HS Roundup: Big wins for HB soccer, field hockey and Milford volleyball

The beats go on for the Hollis Brookline girls soccer and field hockey teams as well as the Milford High School girls volleyball team. All three are major contenders in Division II in their respective sports, all three won on Friday and look to keep these rolls going.

Here’s the rundown:

GIRLS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, BOW 0

The Cavs improve their record to 11-0-1 with a win over their postseason rival Falcons (7-3-3). Livie Ward (goal, assist), Olivia Langfield (goal), Rosalie DeSantis (goal), DD Lussier (assist) and Maddy Leonard (10 saves) racked up the stat sheet.

HB visits Kingswood on Tuesday.

MILFORD 3, CONVAL 0

The Spartans improve to 6-3-3 after a shutout win against ConVal. Kinsley Matsis, Camy Sayward and Shea Hansen each scored a goal. Delaney Barber and Matsis both tallied an assist. Trinity Milner made six saves.

Milford hosts Keene on Tuesday.

BOYS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1, BOW 0

James Arthur scored in the first half on an assist from Andrew Desmarais. Ian Sinclair made two big saves in the Cavs (5-4-3) win. Nathan Fossnes, Leo Zwiener and Nate Constantine held down the midfield. HB hosts Kingswood on Tuesday.

PEMBROKE 5, SOUHEGAN 2

The Sabers (3-8-2) lost their fifth straight game after a road loss on Friday. Evan Bernasconi found the back of the net on a Mason Carson assist. Finnegan Daly made four saves. Souhegan visits Oyster River on October 17.

FIELD HOCKEY

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1, PEMBROKE 0

Ashley Disco scored the only goal of the game on an assist from Megan Eckman. The Cavs (11-2-1) had recorded nine straight shutouts. HB hosts Plymouth on Wednesday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

MILFORD 3, KENNETT 0

The Spartans (10-2) get the sweep winning 25-18, 25-16, 25-9. Harper Anderson (10 kills, four digs, eight aces), Savannah Watson (10 kills, eight digs, eight aces) and Paige Davis (16 digs, ace) contributed in the win. Milford visits Plymouth on Tuesday.

ALVIRNE 3, SPAULDING 0

Alvirne (7-6) defeated Spaulding 26-24, 25-16, 25-18. Hailee Lane (12 kills, two blocks, ace) and Mena Lewis (25 assists, two kills, three blocks, three aces) led the locals. Ava Ellis and Kya Maben each chipped in six kills, while Carolyn McElhinney had eight digs to go along with two aces. Alvirne visits Portsmouth on Tuesday.

WINNACUNNET 3, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2

The Cavs fell 15-9 in the final set after splitting the first four, 25-23, 18-25, 26-24, 18-25.

Nicole Kosalowski had 10 kills, five aces to lead HB, while Shelby Klaassens (seven kills, two blocks), Sam Bure (six kills, one block), Hailey Klaassens (six kills, one block), and Max Harper (27 assists two aces) also stood out.

Now 4-9, HB faces Bedford on Wednesday.
