HS Roundup: Borden paces South field hockey; local volleyball teams win

Senior Night already? The fall season is flying by as that was the case Friday at Stellos Stadium for the Nashua High School South field hockey team. And it was a good Senior Night at that.

Also on the day, HB made it a soccer sweep of Milford with a boys win, while there’s plenty of volleyball action with North, BG, Alvirne and Milford coming out on top:

FIELD HOCKEY

NASHUA SOUTH 3, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 1

The Panthers (3-10) score three unanswered goals to take the win on Senior Night. Brooke Berger scored off an assist from Addie Borden at the beginning of the third quarter. Borden scored less than a minute later and Keegan Dolan rounded out the scoring in the fourth.

Meury Navarette made two saves in net. South celebrated Wylie Hart, Borden, Berger, Dolan, Meenu Dwaraka, Maggie Smith and Navarette. South visits Goffstown on Monday.

BOYS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2, MILFORD 1

The Cavs (4-4-2) came back from early deficit to take the win over the Spartans (1-8-1). John Constantine opened the scoring off a pass from Josh Barich and Keenan Myers knocked one in late in the first half with an assist from Chris Ledger. Mason Escobar made a great save late in the contest to hold onto lead. James Arthur also made great efforts in the win. HB visits Coe-Brown and Milford hosts Laconia on Tuesday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

NASHUA NORTH 3, MERRIMACK 0

The Titans (7-3) sweep the Tomahawks (3-11) by the scores of 25-20, 25-10, 25-23. Mia Barbosa and Ava Durden paced North to their fourth straight win. North visits Windham on Monday and Merrimack visits Hollis Brookline on Wednesday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, WINNACUNNET 0

Thalia Drapeau and Alissa Maillet lead the Cardinals (9-1) to a 25-17, 25-14, 25-18 win over the Warriors. BG visits Pinkerton on Monday.

CONCORD 3, NASHUA SOUTH 2

The Panthers (2-7) fell to Concord 25-12, 15-25, 25-23, 26-28, 11-15. Hannah Perez tallied seven kills and three blocks an Addy Campbell collected 20 digs and 16 service points. South hosts Salem on Monday.

DOVER 3, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0

The Cavs (3-7) were swept on the road 25-22, 25-22, 25-22. Hailey and Shelby Klassen each had five kills and Sam Burke chipped in with four kills. Hershey Vedula and Dami Holman led the defense. HB visits Alvirne on Monday.

ALVIRNE 3, GOFFSTOWN 1

The Broncos even their record at 5-5 after defeating the Grizzlies 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21. Sammie Schiller had four aces, Hailee Lane collected 12 kills, and Lisa Amadi added seven kills. Alvirne hosts Hollis Brookline on Monday.

MILFORD 3, PELHAM 0

The Spartans (8-2) sweep the Pythons on the road 25-9, 25-17, 25-15. Abby Walter (two kills, six assists, six aces), Kassie Cupin (two kills, 11 assists, two aces) and Paige Davis (two kills, five digs, nine aces) led the locals in the win. Milford hosts Hanover on Wednesday.
