It was a great soccer day in the area for most teams, as Nashua North and Bishop Guertin picked up wins and the Panthers of Nashua South tied. On the boys side, can anybody beat Nashua South?

Let’s take a look:

GIRLS SOCCER

NASHUA NORTH 1, GOFFSTOWN 0

The Titans won a huge contest on the road thanks in a big way to Maja Ray-Hokanson who scored the game’s only goal.

Allie Frye had the assist as North moves to 8-1. The Titans are at Alvirne on Tuesday.

NASHUA SOUTH 0, WINDHAM 0

This was the fourth scoreless tie the Panthers have had this year, their fifth tie (1-4-5) overall. Ayvah Christman was superb on defense, along with Carly Benzekri and Caroline Bedell.

South is at Dover on Tuesday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 4, TIMBERLANE 0

Guertin bounced back from its first loss of the season with two goals by Zoe Horton-Sousa, and single tallies by Charlotte Accomando and Mahoney Hammond.

Kelsey Ackerman, Brielle Bostwick and Hadley Comeau had assists while keepers Olivia Baker and Hailey McGowan earned the shutout, with player-of-the-game defensive help by outside back Maddi Long.

BG (9-1-2) is at Hanover on Tuesday.

BOYS SOCCER

NASHUA SOUTH 4, WINDHAM 0

The Panthers stayed unbeaten (8-0-1) with goals by Kevin Araujo (plus an assist), MaxFriday, Alex Lope and Nirav Chenji. Antonio Pancine had the shutout in goal.

“A good overall team effort,” South coach Tom Bellen said.

South is at Concord on Monday.

GOFFSTOWN 2, NASHUA NORTH 0

The Titans have struggled to score goals, blanked for the third straight time while falling to 2-7-1.North hosts Alvirne on Tuesday.

FIELD HOCKEY

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0, MERRIMACK VALLEY 0 (OT)

It’s the area’s second scoreless tie of the day and part of the reason it happened was a huge stop by Cavs goalie Maddie Barich on an MV penalty stroke in overtime.

Now 8-2-1, HB is riding a six-game unbeaten streak which it will try to continue Tuesday at Pelham.

GOLF

MILFORD THIRD

The Spartans totaled 250 at Amherst Country Club, well behind match winner Goffstown (216) and Kingswood (219).

However, Milford’s Jack Bastarache took medalist honors with a 40.

On Wednesday, Bastarache tied for medalist honors at Amherst with a 38 as the Spartans were third (255) behind Winnacunnet (197) and Merrimack Valley (231).
