HS Roundup: BG, South boys, HB girls soccer keep rolling

The rich just keep getting richer.

Three of the season’s best soccer teams, the Nashua South and Bishop Guertin boys plus the Hollis Brookline girls all won and won fairly decisively on Tuesday. Also the BG golf team keeps winning as well.

Here’s the good news:

BOYS SOCCER

BISHOP GUERTIN 2, PINKERTON 0

The Cardinals keep on rolling and improve to 8-0. Trenton Cormier and Alex Haight scored the goals. Ryan Neary and Sam Woodward tallied assists, while Beau Boughter made seven saves. BG hosts Timberlane on Wednesday.

NASHUA SOUTH 3, MANCHESTER CENTRAL 1

Kevin Araujo, Vitor Pegas and Damien Rodriguez each found the back of the net for the Panthers (7-0-1) in their seventh straight win. Alex Lopez and Max Kopicko played well for the locals. South hosts Windham on Thursday.

MERRIMACK 6, ALVIRNE 1

The Tomahawks bounced back from a tough Saturday loss at BG with Kaiden Martin’s hat trick and two assists leading the way as they improved to 5-2-2.

Hunter Joseph, Brady Towle and Quinn Guliano also scored while Brady Gauvin scored for the Broncos, now 2-5-1.

Merrimack hosts Memorial on Friday at 6 p.m. while Alvirne is at Exeter.

GIRLS SOCCER

NASHUA SOUTH 0, MANCHESTER CENTRAL 0

Corrine Rivera was in net for the Panthers (1-4-4) in their shutout tie against Central. Caroline Bedell and Carly Benzreki led the defensive unit. Julia Stutz and Ella Bois kept the pressure on offense. South visits Windham on Thursday.

MILFORD 1, PLYMOUTH 0

Camy Sayward scored on an assist from Kinsley Matsis to win the game for the Spartans (4-2-3). Delany Barber made 11 saves. Milford hosts Hollis Brookline on Thursday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 4, OYSTER RIVER 0

Marleigh Kreick scored five minutes in and the Cavs (8-0-1) were well on their way to extending their unbeaten streak to 47 games. Molly Reardon added a goal and three assists while Liviei Ward had a goal and D.D. Lussier had an assist. Kai Swart was a defensive spark in front of goalkeeper Maddy Leonard (four saves).

HB is at Milford on Thursday.

ALVIRNE 2, MERRIMACK 2

The Broncos are still searching for that first win at 0-6-2 but did get goals by Angie Rivera and Megan Murphy while Abbie Kowalski had 17 saves in goal. The Broncos host Exeter on Friday.

FIELD HOCKEY

SOUHEGAN 6, PEMBROKE 0

Ella Russell and Scarlett Lecolst each had two goals wile Eme Godin and Bella Preston had single tallies. Mariellah Dart and Ella Mornandin had assists while Emelia Warecki got the shutout in goal.

GOLF

BISHOP GUERTIN 197, LONONDERRY 210, NASHUA NORTH 211, KEENE 216

The Cardinals come out victorious at Sky Meadow to move to 19-2. Owen Murphy and Chase Brisebois each shot a 37, while Marie Tribou and Joe Hebert each ended their day with a 41. North saw a good day on the green from Conor Prunier (40), Brayden Ouellett (41), Joey Lantz (43) and Tommy Pratch (43).
