Something had to give when the Milford and Hollis Brookline football teams tangled on Friday night as both teams were looking for their first win – and points – of the season.

Elsewhere there were no surprises as expected local favorites triumphed. And there was a bittersweet reunion in Hudson.

Here’s the rest of your Football Friday:

DIVISION II

MILFORD 20, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 8

Jace Wilhemi scored three touchdowns, one of them a 98-yard strip fumble return, and also had 10 tackles and a sack to pace the Spartans, now 1-2, in Milford in an all-local battle.

Max Cote had an interception while Chris Bozza 11 tackles or Milford, which is at John Stark next Friday.

“It was great to see the kids get the well-deserved win,” Milford coach Max Morelli said.

Meanwhile, while Hollis Brookline (0-3) got its first points of the season, the Cavs were unable to get their first win thanks a great part to turnovers.

Steve Nieble scored on a 10-yard TD run and Cole Duncan added a two point conversion that gave the Cavs a short-lived 8-0 lead.

“We had a ton of turnovers,” HB coach Pat Gendron said. The Cavs host Pelham next Saturday afternoon.

SOUHEGAN 35, JOHN STARK 0

Ryland Raudelunas was at it again for the 3-0 Sabers as he ran for three TDs and had a touchdown reception, and over 200 total yards.

QB Michael Fiengo threw one of those TD passes and ran for another touchdown. Andrew Healey went 5 for 5 on PATs for the Sabers, who are at Manchester West next Friday in a battle of unbeatens.

DIVISION I

WINDHAM 35, ALVIRNE 7

It was a successful return for former Alvirne coach Matt Lee as Jaguars quarterback Kevin Murphy threw for two TDs and Michael Brearley rushed 18 times for 146 yards and two TDs.

Alvirne, now 0-3, managed a rushing TD by Ethan Dudley. The Broncos are at Concord next Saturday.

DIVISION III

CAMPBELL 38, INTER-LAKES/MOULTONBOROUGH 21

It was the Brody and Braydon Show for the 3-0 Cougars as Brody Pinciaro and Braydon White each had three TD runs in Litchfield.

Campbell will be at Somersworth next Friday.
