It was a manic Monday both indoors and out in the local high school world. Outdoors an all local field hockey matchup was much closer than one would expect, while indoors a local volleyball player recorded a career milestone.

To find it all out, take a look:

FIELD HOCKEY

BISHOP GUERTIN 1, NASHUA NORTH 0

Despite being still winless on the season, the Titans have obviously improved as they gave the Cards a tough time at least on the scoreboard.

Kaylee Crushank scored the game’s only goal, while BG’s Carly Green led the team in shots and overall push.

Now 4-2, Guertin takes on South at Stellos on Wednesday. North, now 0-6, is at Pinkerton on Wednesday.

SALEM 5, NASHUA SOUTH 1

South (1-5) gave the Blue Devils a game, down 1-0 at the half, before the hosts scored three goals to break it open.

Keegan Dolan scored on a penalty stroke for South. Lily Hurd had five saves in goal while Wylie Hart also played well for the Panthers, who tangle next with BG at Stellos on Wednesday.

SOUHEGAN 7, KENNETT 1

The Sabers improved to 5-0 on three goals by Ella Normandin, two by Mariellah Dart, and one each by Ella Russell and Eme Godin.

Assists were by Ori Dart (two) and one by Meredith Meimarck. Amelia Warecki had three saves in the Saber goal.

Souhegan is at Derryfield today.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

NORTH 3, EXETER 0

The Titans (3-2) bounced back nicely from a tough loss Friday to record a 25-19, 25-11, 25-22 sweep. Their team approach led to standout performances by Hayley Maurhoff, Amelia Hebert and Ruby Zeman.

Logan Sartor also played well while passers Patricia So and Laura Ducharme also set the tone. North is at Salem on Wednesday.

BEDFORD 3, NASHUA SOUTH 1

The teams split the first two sets, 14-25 and 25-23, but then Bedford took the next two, 25-16 and 25-20 for the win.

Briley Landstiener had 14 digs and three aces, while Lexi McGuire had nine assists, four aces and five digs.

Addy Campbell (six kills, 10 digs) and Hanah Perez (five blocks, five kills) also helped out. South hosts Portsmouth on Wednesday.

PORTSMOUTH 3, MERRIMACK 1

The Tomahawks fell to 1-5 after a 17-25, 11-25, 25-16, 13-25 loss on the road.

Lucy Althouse had five aces, six kills, five digs and four blocks. Belle Steiles had 13 assists and 13 digs while Emily Fagan had 17 digs.

TIMBERLANE 3, ALVIRNE 2

It was a bittersweet night for the Broncos, as they lost the fifth set 15-12 after splitting the first four sets 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 17-25.

That’s the bad news. The good news is Bronco Mena Lewis had over 25 assists, including her 500th career assist, notched in the second set.

Hailee Lane had double digits in kills for Alvirne, now 2-2 and set to host Pinkerton today.
