It took the Nashua High School North football team eight weeks to get win No. 2 last season.

This year? Just the second week, as North topped Goffstown Friday night. The other local winners were Campbell and Souhegan, but what else is new, right?

Here’s the rundown:

DIVISION I

NASHUA NORTH 28, GOFFSTOWN 13

The Titans jumped out to a 14-0 lead on the road and stayed in control, thanks to two TDs by Kobe Perry, a Jedwin Lluveres TD, and a Josh Sullivan 61-yard TD reception on a pass from Brady O’Connor.

Now 2-0, North is at Merrimack next Friday.

“The kids played well against a gritty Goffstown team,” North coach Chad Zibolis said. “Always a tough atmosphere to play in.”

SALEM 48, ALVIRNE 0

It was another tough night for the Broncos, this time on the road, as they start a clear rebuilding season 0-2.

Salem is now 2-0. Alvirne hosts another Central Conference foe, Windham, next Friday.

DIVISION II

SOUHEGAN 35, CONVAL 0

Michael Fiengo tossed three TD passes, two to Kobe Morin and one to Chase knuckles as the Sabers moved to 2-0 on the young season in Peterborough.

Cole Brandt had a big night, with two rushing touchdowns plus an interception on defense.

Souhegan hosts John Stark next Friday.

HANOVER 35, MILFORD 0

The Spartans struggled again, this time on the road, and are now 0-2 on the season. They are still looking to find the end zone and hope to do that at home next Friday vs. fellow local Hollis Brookline.

DIVISION III

CAMPBELL 56, SANBORN 29

The Cougars (2-0) put up plenty of offense in Kingston, as Braydon White and Brody Pinciaro combined for 209 yards rushing and three TDs (White 102, one; Pinciaro 108, two).

Joel Ducatelli (57 yards) and Sam Morrison (37) each had two scores, while Jake Landry also had a TD, gaining 44 yards on just two carries.

Overall the Cougars rushed for 373 yards. QB Mikey Grace completed 3 of 5 passes for 60 yards and rushed for 10; Morrison had two catches for 57 yards.

They host Inter-Lakes next Friday night.
