Don’t look now, but the Bishop Guertin High School boys soccer team is off to a 3-0 start, just one of the good soccer stories that the area has. The Bishop Guertin, Milford and Hollis Brookline girls remain unbeaten, as do the Merrimack boys.

Here’s how it all went down on a terrific Tuesday for the locals:

NASHUA SOUTH 1, ALVIRNE 1

Both the Panthers (0-2-2) and the Broncos (0-3-1) continue to look for their first win of the season after ending their match in a tie.

Alvirne’s Lia Brown scored on an assist by Anna Murphy and Abbie Kowalski collected 14 saves. South’s Abbey Herbert connected on a pass from Auden King with less than 30 seconds left in the game. Caroline Bedell played a key role in the Panthers offense in the second half.

South visits Merrimack on September 16 and Alvirne visits Portsmouth on Thursday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, MERRIMACK VALLEY 1

The Cavs improve to 3-0 and end their three-game road swing to begin the season. Kai Swart picked up the first goal of the match putting the ball inside post on a free kick from Marleigh Kreick. Sam Disco placed one in the corner on a pass from DD Lussier for a 2-0 halftime lead.

Rosalie DeSantis found a loose ball off the goalkeeper to add another for the Cavs. Grace Dow and AJ Thibault led the defense, while Maddy Leonard made seven saves.

HB hosts John Stark in its home opener on Thursday.
