HS Roundup: BG golfers win tri-match; ‘Hawks, Panthers go 3-4
The high school season is underway.
Yes, the first NHIAA competition involving area teams took place on Wednesday, but really, in summer-like fashion: on the golf course.
A few area teams were in action on the links on Wednesday, but be prepared, things heat up on Thursday as soccer gets underway. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, and here’s a look at yesterday’s events:
CO-ED GOLF
BISHOP GUERTIN 187, DOVER 194, SALEM 214
The Cards ruled at Campbell’s Scottish Highlands in Salem, thanks to a 34 by medalist Chase Briseois, while Owen Murphy had a 36, Aaron Ackerman a 37 and Joe Hebert 39. Maria Tribou and Owen King each had a 41.
MERRIMACK THIRD, NASHUA SOUTH FOURTH
The Tomahawks totaled 224 while the Panthers were at 233, and both were behind winner Bedford (192) and runnerup Exeter (209) at Manchester Country Club.
Brendon Doughty and Jack Ninteau led the way for South at 46 each, while Will McKenney, David Ramalho and Braedyn Thyne each had a 47.
For Merrimack, Drew Peretti had a 43,Danny Lavigne 44, Aanush Kuthiala and Josh Kahn 45 each,and Kyle Brander a 47.
WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH THIRD
The Warriors totaled 43 points, ahead of Gorham (33) but behind second place Concord Christian (56) and Moultonborough’s top score of 75.
WLC freshman CamdenJones had a 46 (fifth low gross), while Owen Lavallee and J.J. Benson each had a 51 for the Warriors.
