HS Roundup: Souhegan baseball keeps winning; Cavs on top

Friday was a good day to be a Cavalier and a Saber, as Hollis Brookline and Souhegan combined for five wins with just one loss. And Campbell baseball ended the regular season on a good note.

Here’s a look:

BASEBALL

SOUHEGAN 5, PELHAM 1

The Sabers (16-1) hot streak continues on by winning their 11th straight game. Jaiden Bosquet got the win striking out 12 while allowing two hits and one run in a complete game. Leading at the plate were Drew Reagan (hit, run, RBI), Matt Silk (two hits, run, stolen base), Brayden Hickman (two hits, two runs, stolen base), Cam Brown (hit), Max Hayes (hit) and Brody Smith (run). Souhegan visits Lebanon on Saturday.

HANOVER 6, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3

As the Cavs (13-4) regular season comes to an end so does their six game win streak. HB saw good performances from Keenan Myers (hit), Tyler Gryniewicz (two hits, run), Dylan Morelli (two hits, run), Matt Bergin (two hits, run, RBI), Connor Gryniewicz (run, RBI), Thomas Howie (hit) and Paul Gehan (hit, RBI).

CAMPBELL 3, GILFORD 1

Luke Delia sparked the Cougar offense with two hits and two RBIs to end the regular season with a win. Jack Curtis had a RBI single that extended an early lead. Michael Grace grabbed the win, tossing five innings with seven strikeouts while allowing just two hits and one run. The locals showed their speed by swiping four bags. Campbell sits at 11-5 and await the postseason.

BOYS LACROSSE

SOUHEGAN 10, SPAULDING 9

Ayden McGrath recorded four goals and an assist, while Sean Reardon made 19 saves in net to lead the Sabers (4-13) over the Broncos (1-15). Nate Hill tallied four assists and Louis Berlack had a goal and an assist. Alvirne’s Brady Orr collected five goals and two assists with Chris Darby scoring two.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 10, TIMBERLANE 6

Noah Taylor was all over the field collecting two goals, an assist and causing two turnovers in the Cavs (13-5) win over the Owls. JP Torgersen tallied three goals and an assist, Bennett Torgersen and Sam Petrella each had goals with Colin Magnuszewski added one. Patrick Masoni, Tyler Allen, Aiden O’Hearn and Levi Mitchell (12 saves) led the defense.

GIRLS LACROSSE

SOUHEGAN 12, LONDONDERRY 11

The Sabers (12-3) close out the season with a tight win over the Lancers and a six game winning streak. Lanai Hickman (six goals, three ground balls), Abby Giannetti (assist), Izzy Stevenson (goal, four assists, three ground balls) and Libby Kennedy (five goals) led the offensive unit.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, GOFFSTOWN 0

The Cavs (14-2) swept the Grizzlies 25-15, 25-21, 25-20 on Senior Night. Ethan Norris (22 kills, 16 digs) broke the school block record by tallying block 91 in the match. James Kelly had five kills, Sam Hersey collected 11 assists and Zac Wu added 12 assists.
