Saber boys tennis tops Kennett; awaits tourney pairings

The Souhegan High School boys tennis team wrapped up its Division II regular season on Sunday — the final day to play — with a 6-3 win at Kennett.
The Sabers finish the regular season 9-5, tied with Lebanon for fifth, and tiebreakers will have to be used to see which team will finish in the top five to get a first round bye– and which will have to play in the prelims Tuesday, likely hosting Alvirne.
Souhegan and Lebanon did not play in the regular season. The Sabers went 4-4 vs. tourney teams while Lebanon went 3-5, so that may decide the issue in Souhegan’s favor.
In Sunday’s match, Saber winners were their top four singles: Brian Goddard (8-0), Balthazar Glover (8-2), Parker Schade (8-1) and Patrick Bryson (8-3).
Goddard/Glover and Schade Bryson at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles both won 8-2 to put the finishing touches on the win and a successful regular season.
Souhegan will either play Tuesday or in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
