The Hollis Brookline High School boys tennis team knows what it needs to do if it wants to win the Division II state title:
Beat Goffstown.
The Cavs dropped their second match with the Grizzlies this week. It was otherwise a quiet Saturday on the high school circuit except for the Bobcat Invitational out at Durham, and we had a Matt Giardina sighting as he had a good day for Bishop Guertin.
Here’s a look:
BOYS TENNIS
GOFFSTOWN 6, HOLLIS BROOKINE 3
HB fell to 10-2, managing just two singles victories at No. 1 (Arjun Inakollu, 8-3) and No. 3 (John Torpey, 8-3).
Also, the No.1 doubles team of Inakollu and Sam Anthony won 8-6, but that was it. Ronan Finnegan (9-7) and Anthony (8-6) lost two close singles matches at Nos. 2 and 4, respectively.
Goffstown is now 10-0. HB will be at Bow on Monday and close out the regular season on Wednesday at Winnacunnet.
