HS Roundup: BG boys roll past North, South girls top HB

Into everyone’s life some rain must fall but the local high school schedule has been hit with a heavy dose this week, including Friday, with only a handful of lacrosse games played.
Any baseball, softball, or tennis matches scheduled were postponed; as usual check schools’ athletic websites for the rescheduled dates – or in some cases the reschedulings of the rescheduled.
Meanwhile, here’s the brief Friday rundown:
BOYS LACROSSE
BISHOP GUERTIN 23, NASHUA NORTH 2
Jordan O’Hearn and Owen King had hat tricks to help the Cards improve to 7-3 a they had 16 different goal scorers.
Sampson San added a goal and won 24 faceoffs, while Jordan LeClair had five saves in goal.
The Cards are at Xaverian Brothers in Westwood, Mass. on Monday.
GILFORD 3, MILFORD 2 (OT)
Tyler Noble and Dylan MacLeod each had a goal for the Spartans while Rocco Bartling had 14 saves. Unfortunately, Gilford’s Brady Allessandro scored the game-winner in sudden death overtime.
Now 0-7, the Spartans will seek their first win on Monday at John Stark.
DERRYFIELD 7, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 5
The Cavs fell to 7-3 despite 14 saves by Levi Mitchell, and two goals and two assists by Bennet Torgersen.
J.P. Torgersen, Sam Petrella and Noah Taylor also had goals while J.P. Torgerse, Mike O’Hearn and Colin Magnuszewski each had an assist.
HB is at Nashua North on Monday at Stellos Stadium.
HANOVER 6, SOUHEGAN 4
Muse Cross-swartzell led the Sabers (2-7) with a goal and an assists while single goals were by Matt Mullen, Chase Wilmot and Ayden McGrath.
GIRLS LACROSSE
NASHUA SOUTH 9, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 7
Addie Borden and Carly Benzekri led the Panthers with three goals each as they moved to 8-3.
Karina O’Donnell had two goals while Maren Lowell had a goal and an assist. Saige Devins also had an assist.
Playing well defensively in the pouring rain for the Panthers in Hollis were Lexi McGuire, Nevaeh Eppolitto, Karina Santana Nizann Alkalay and Maddie Langer in front of goalie Lilee Petricca (three saves).
South is at Souhegan on Monday while the Cavs (2-7) are at Manchester Memorial.
MERRIMACK 21, KEENE 1 (Thursday)
The Tomahawks are soaring through Division II, as their win over the Blackbirds showed with Payton Trepaney and Riley Taylor each having four goals apiece and Ava Martin three and Ava Woods two. Single goals were by lyla Carls, Brooklynn Hilyard, Jackie Hayes, Lexi Bell, Lily Palmer, Syd Capen, Avery Gauthier and Kyleigh Perella.
Taylor led the ‘Hawks in assists with three, while Hayes had eight draw controls and eight ground ball pickups to lead the team. Sophia Richard had two saves in goal.
Now 8-0, Merrimack hosts Kingswood on Monday.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, JOHN STARK 0
The Cavaliers stayed unbeaten (8-0) with a 25-18, 25-22, 25-15 sweep, led by Ethan Norris (18 kills, two aces, 12 digs).
James Kelly (eight kills, three blocks), Alex Howe (three aces, four kills 10 digs) and Sam Hersey (22 assists) also contributed.
HB visits Mascenic on Monday.
