BRIDGE IS BACK: May is here, and so is the Battle of the Bridge
NASHUA – May is here and that can only mean one thing for Nashua high school sports:
The spring version of the North-South Battle of the Bridge.
Actually, it’s already underway, as the numbers were large enough for a freshmen baseball game, won by South recently 1-0.
But everything else is ahead of us.
The Battle is scheduled resumes Monday with the annual North-South track meet at South’s Fran Tate Track, beginning at 4 p.m.
Then, on Tuesday, the Co-Ed Unified track meet will be held at South as well.
Wednesday is lacrosse and tennis day. At Nashua South will be the boys and girls JV lacrosse games at 3 p.m., and boys varsity tennis at 4 p.m.
Or you can head over to Stellos Stadium for the varsity lacrosse doubleheader, the boys squaring off at 4 p.m. and the girls at 6. The boys game will also be played for the Monsen Cup in memory of late South lacrosse coach Bill Monsen.
Things then advance to Monday, May 12 with the Nashua North-South softball game, held at Rivier Univiersity’s Raider Diamond under the lights at 7.
And finally, things will wrap up that Friday, May 16, at Holman Stadium with the North vs. South varsity baseball game at 7 p.m. The JV game will be at Holman as well at 3:30 p.m.
