HS Tennis Roundup: Sabers girls, Titan boys off to 2-0 start

The Souhegan Sabers were in the Division II girls tennis finals a year ago, and have picked up right where they left off with their second win of the new season.
And how about the Nashua North boys? They picked up their second win as well, and Merrimack, which had a dismal 2024, started the new season off with a win as well.
Let’s take a look:
BOYS TENNIS
NASHUA NORTH 8, SPAULDING 1
The Titans are now 2-0 as they took five of six singles to get things decided early.
They won in Nos. 1 through 5 as Navein Sribalaharan (8-0), Connor McInerney (8-4), Evan Linscott (8-1), Domingo Reynoso (8-5) and Jack Desjardins (8-2) did the job.
They swept doubles thanks to the tandems of Sribalaharan/Camden Smith (8-3), Linscott/Hunter Peplinski (8-4) and Anthony Gutierrez/Marco Abatangelo (9-7).
North is at Salem on Monday.
MERRIMACK 7, MILFORD 2
The Tomahawks, now in Division II, swept singles to win their opener. Singles winners from the top of the ladder on down were Mikhail Agapov (8-4), Leon Rossman (8-4), Jeremy Nigen (8-5), Nithin Sathappan (8-2), Wayne Alexander (8-5) and Lucas Goldberg (8-4).
Alexander/Goldberg won at No. 3 doubles 8-6. Milford salvaged two wins, as Will Emerson/Brady O’Connor and Javier Goodwin/Marcus Kern both won 8-6.
Merrimack hosts Alvirne today, weather permitting, while Milford (0-2) hosts Bow.
GIRLS TENNIS
SOUHEGAN 9, WINNACUNNET 0
A couple of years ago, the Warriors were a thorn in the Sabers side. Not this time.
Souhegan enjoyed a clean sweep, with singles wins by Callie Perrin (8-2), Tess Jancar (8-0), Ori Dart (8-3), Caroline Drum (8-1), Sophia Yates (8-3), and Emma Perrin (8-2).
Callie Perrin/Dart (8-2), Drum/Jancar (8-0) and Emma Perrin/Yates (8-2) completed the sweep in doubles.
The Sabers are at Pembroke today.
SPAULDING 5, NASHUA NORTH 4
The Red Raiders took two of three doubles after the teams went 3-3 in singles as the Titans fell to 1-1.
Singles winners for North were Brielle Baxter and Leena Leslie at Nos. 1-2 (both 9-7) and Ishanvi Sharma 8-6 at No. 5.
Baxter/Mary Pappas won at No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
North hosts Salem on Monday.
