He’s simply the best on many levels.

Nashua High School South scoring sensation Josh Caruso was named the Division I Player of the Year by the New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Organization (NHBCO) as their All-State teams have been revealed.

It’s a fitting honor for the 28-point per game scorer, whose season and high school career came to an abrupt end this past Saturday when Exeter eliminated the Panthers in the Division I quarterfinals. He was also named New Hampshire Mr. Basketball as the state’s best overall boys player.

Caruso (First Team) and guard Josh Tripp (Honorable Mention) were the lone Panthers on the Division I All-State team. Alvirne had guard Sammy DeWitt (Second Team) and forward Garrett Hall (HM), while Bishop Guertin’s Connor McGowan was Second Team and Eli Youseff HM, as was Nashua North’s Robinson Rodriguez. Tripp was also on the All-Defensive Team.

In Division II, Hollis Brookline’s Alton Williams was on Second Team, while his Cavalier teammates, Y’Arie Ramas and James Aruthur, were Honorable Mentions. Souhegan’s Weston Hickman made HM, while Ramas, Souhegan’s Lincoln Wilkins, and Milford’s Tyler Constable were on the All-Defensive team. Hollis Brookline’s Ryan Kelley was Co-Coach of the Year.
