The Bishop Guertin High School boys hockey team kept its winning ways up on Saturday, but a couple of other local teams didn’t have the same good fortune.
Here’s the rundown on a light Saturday:
BOYS HOCKEY
BISHOP GUERTIN 2, EXETER 1
Ryan Mogielnicki’s third period goal was the difference as the Cards at Phillips Exeter won their ninth straight game.
Jordan O’Hearn had the assist on the game-winner at 9:01 of the third.
James Mantone scored the first goal for BG unassisted at 6:42 of the first.
Now 13-3, BG hosts Hanover on Monday at Skate 3 at 5:55. Exeter fell to 8-6-1.
PINKERTON 3, NASHUA SOUTH-PELHAM 0
The Kings suffered a tough setback that puts their tourney hopes in jeopardy as they fell to 4-10-1 while the Astros, one of the teams they’re fighting for the 10th and final spot in Division I, are now 5-9-1.
Noah Soule had an incredible night in goal with 41 saves. The Kings were outshot 44-15. They’ll face rival Nashua North-Souhegan for the second time this season Monday evening at Conway Arena.
DOVER 4, ALVIRNE-MILFORD 3
The once red-hot Admirals dropped their second straight as three Dover third period goals ruined Senior Night.
A-M is now 12-5 despite Braydon Atwood breaking the school record for goals in a single season. He had two goals while Bryce Larco scored the Admirals’ other goal. Brandon Ganas, Dylan Macleod and Ryan Ricard had asists.
Goalie Mason Komarek had 27 saves for the Admirals, who were outshot 31-18. The Admirals wind up the regular season on Wednesday at Lebanon-Stevens-Mascoma.
GIRLS HOCKEY
HANOVER 7, BISHOP GUERTIN 0
The Cards played the Bears tough at Skate 3 two weeks ago, but this time up in Hanover the Bears had their way as Guertin fell to 4-12-1.
Guertin winds up the regular season on Wednesday at Skate 3 vs. Pinkerton.
