North boys finish fourth to highlight locals in D1 swimming

The Nashua High School boys swim team was the local story of Saturday’s NHIAA Division I Swim championships at the University of New Hamphires’s Swasey Pool.

The Titans finished fourth overall with 122 points. Bedford won both the boys (277) and girls (273) titles, as expected. In the boys, Keene was second (172), Exeter third (134) ahead of North, which beat out fifth place Dover (114).

Locally in the boys, Nashua South was 10th (49 points) while Merrimack (22) was 12th. Alvirne was 17th and Bishop Guertin 18th.

In the girls, Nashua South was the top local in eighth (60). North (44) was 10th, Merrimack (36) 11th and BG 16th while Alvirne 18th. Dover was second, Windham third, with Pinkerton and Exter rounding out the top five.

The dive champions were also local, with South’s Katie Perry winning the girls and Dawson Bolton of North the boys.

Here’s a look at the key local results:

BOYS MEET

The Titans got some valuable relay points. North’s 200 Medley relay team of Tom White, Griffin Reilly, Jayden Ceballos and Jack White were third in 1:51.36. Also, the foursome of Jayden Ceballos, Tom and Jack White, and Griffin Reilly took second in the 200 Free relay.

Jack White was third in the 200 IM (2:06.43) as well as fourth in the 100 Free (51.12)

Jayden Ceballos was ninth in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 Fly. Bolton’s winning dive score was 307.80, ahead of teammate David Preston (280.25) and South’s Nathan Perry (233.25), the only three competitors. North’s Tom White was eighth in the 500 Free. Alexander Paquin was 11th in the100 back.

Nashua South’s foursome of Ishaan Parmar, Cole DeHoyos, Pratham Mukewar and Nathan Perry were fifth in the 200 Free relay (1:45.02) DeHoyos was 10th in the 100 Back.

The Panthers were ninth in the 400 Free Relay and 10th in the 200 Medley relay and North in the 400 Free relay was 12th.

Merrimack’s Cooper Hardy was fourth in the 100 Fly (57.30) as well as the 100 Back (56.57. )Alvirne’s Caden Cox was eighth in the 100 free and seventh in the 100 Breast.

GIRLS MEET

Panther Perry’s dive score was 331.95 points, ahead of North Kaylee Hall’s 324.25 and Alvirne’s Auri Anderson’s 313.65. BG’s Nicolette Carlton at 296.15 set a school record, good for fourth. Merrimack’s Avery Evinson was fifth and North’s Savanna Basford sixth.

South’s Teresa Mathew was fifth in the 50 Free (26.48 seconds)

South’s 200 Medley relay team finished No. 12, as was Keegan Dolan in the 200 IM.

Dolan, Mara Grigas-Lewis, Perry and Mathew were fifth in the 200 Free relay (1:53.91), and Dolan, Grigas-Lewis, Gabriella Desjardins and Claire Hathaway-Rube were 10th in the 400 Free relay.

North’s Anya Seo was sixth in the 500 Free and seventh in the 200 Free and part of the 400 Free relay team that was 10th.

Merrimack was paced by Josey Stevens, second in the 100 Fly (1:02.62) and her 2:20.32 was fourth in the 200 IM. Stevens was on the 200 Free relay team that was 12th.

For Bishop Guertin, the Cards’ 200 Free relay team of Addison Wilson, Sofia Martins, Danica Marotta-Mello and Lana Ayotte was 10th and the Cards 200 Medley relay team was 11th.
