Division I Skiing: Cards and Crooks ski well at Pat’s Peak

Several locals performed well in the Division I Alpine Skiing championships at Pat’s Peak on Monday.
Bishop Guertin’s Max DeRosa was sixth in the Slalom in 1:18.71 while Nashua South’s Timmy Crook was right behind him in eighth in 1:22.30.
Crook’s brother Tommy, meanwhile, was 10th in the Giant Slalom (1:25.71), while Guertin’s Austin Harvey was sixth in 1:24.30. All will compete in the Meet of Champions in Mittersill next week.
Portsmouth won the state title, tied with Bedford in the GS with 363 points but winning the Slalom with 370 points to Bedford’s 353.
The Cards were fourth overall in the GS while South was eighth. Panther Timmy Crook was 26th, and Chase Swisher 33rd in the GS. DeRosa was 13th in the GS for BG in 1:26.60, while BG’s Connor O’Donnell was 35th and Finley Bouvier 46th. Merrimack’s Brent Clark was 23rd and North’s Jimmy Lombardi was 75th.
In the Slalom, South’s Chase Swisher was 27th in 1:38.37 as the Panthers finished ninth. The Cards (218) wee 12th; Finley Bouvier was 26th (1:37.72) and Nathan Rappoli 60th. Lombardi was 52nd for North and Finn Larney 53rd. Merrimack’s Conne Streeter was 50th.
