Nashua North wasn’t the only local high school boys basketball team to grab a big win over a Divsion I contender on Friday night.
They’re pretty excited in Hudson these days about their Alvirne Broncos, who stunned Bedford at the Steckevicz Gym. They’re contenders as well now, winners of six straight.
“Phenomenal efforts from Evan Bettencourt and Garrett Hall,” Broncos coach Mitchell Roy said. “It was a great team effort and I’m very proud of the group.”
Also in boys hoop, Hollis Brookline won its ninth Division II game – incredible – and Campbell continued to play like a Division III power. Merrimack also got a much-needed win.
Bishop Guertin continued its winning ways in girls hoop, Hollis Brookline bounced back, and Campbell ended a long skid.
