HS Roundup: Good night for BG, South, North girls; North boys fall in OT

The last Tuesday Night of Hoops in January produced some interesting results.

It was a great night for the city of Nashua’s girls teams as they went 3-0. And while the Nashua North boys have been slumping, the Titans took once-beaten Portsmouth to overtime on the road.

Here’s the rundown:

BOYS BASKETBALL

PORTSMOUTH 67, NASHUA NORTH 65 (OT)

The Titans (3-8) battled it out with the Clippers in an overtime loss. Robinson Rodriguez tallied 35 points. North visits Nashua South on Friday.

SALEM 82, BISHOP GUERTIN 73

The Cardinals (5-6) fall on the road to the Blue Devils Tuesday night. Playing well for the locals were Eli Youssef (15 points), Connor McGowan (14 points), Luca Fabrizio (13 points) and Alex Dolan (11 points).

BG visits Merrimack on Thursday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

NASHUA SOUTH 61, MERRIMACK 24

Nicole DeJesus drops 20 points in the Panthers (6-5) dominant win over the Tomahawks. Lexi McGuire and Addie Borden collected 12 points apiece while Karina O’Donnell added 10. South hosts Nashua North on Friday.

NASHUA NORTH 39, PORTSMOUTH 32

Aidan Walker (eight rebounds, four steals) and Madelyn Tino scored 14 points apiece in the Titans (6-4) fourth straight win. North visits Nashua South on Friday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 47, SALEM 43

Holly Dufoe puts in 19 points in the Cardinals (7-3) fourth win in a row. Thalia Drapeau and Maddi Long chipped in seven points each. BG hosts Merrimack on Thursday.

CONCORD CHRISTIAN 58, ALVIRNE 36

The Broncos (6-5) were outpaced by a stout Concord Christian squad. Ella Hartson scored 14 points and Lexi Floyd added seven. Alvirne visits Trinity on Friday.

SOUHEGAN 40, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 37

The Sabers (4-6) snap their three-game losing streak after defeating the Cavs (6-4). Tess Jancar scored 11 first half points and Zofia Rosenfield score nine of her 10 points in the second half and added 11 rebounds.

HB’s Samantha Disco tallied 12 points while Anika Carlson collected 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Cavs led 21-14 at halftime, but a 13 of 36 shooting night caught up with them.

Souhegan visits Oyster River on Friday and HB hosts ConVal on Friday.
