HS Roundup: Corriveau’s 3 wins it for BG; North girls roll

It was a big night for Bishop Guertin’s Josh Corriveau to highlight a very busy high school basketball Friday.

Why? You’ll have to read on, and also see big wins by the Campbell boys again, plus the Nashua North girls plus the Milford and Hollis Brookline girls:

BOYS BASKETBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 76, DOVER 73

Josh Corriveau (three points) stepped up when it counted by hitting a game winning 30-foot three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Cardinals (4-4) the win. Connor McGowan (24 points), Eli Youssef (19 points) and Matt Chau (17 points) paced the offense.

Assistant coach Nate Christopher ran the Cards bench as head coach Will Horne stayed back in the area as his wife gave birth to the couple’s first child.

BG hosts Manchester Central on Tuesday.

WINDHAM 68, NASHUA SOUTH 60

Josh Caruso had a great night offensively scoring 34 points in the Panthers (5-3) loss to the Jaguars, who pulled away down the stretch and were led by Jack Koutrobis’ 29 points. South hosts Salem on Tuesday.

SPAULDING 58, NASHUA NORTH 36

The Titans (3-5) fell for the second consecutive game when they visited Spaulding, which improved to 2-6. Alize Roig-Cortez scored 11 points and Josh Sullivan had 10 for the Titans.

North visits Winnacunnet on Tuesday.

ALVIRNE 54, LONDONDERRY 43

Andrew Deely showed off his hard work with a 21 point performance to help the Broncos (4-4) snap their three game losing streak. Others helping the locals were Sammy DeWitt (eight points), Alex Valenzuela (seven points), Evan Bettencourt (seven points), Gabe Conrow (six points) and Garrett Hall (five points). Alvirne hosts Timberlane on Tuesday.

TRINITY 75, MERRIMACK 50

The Tomahawks (4-3) couldn’t get past the Pioneers defense and resulted in 31 turnovers and the loss. Noah Morrison and Ryan Elliott each scored 11 points with Zach Retey adding 10. Merrimack hosts Concord on Tuesday.

CAMPBELL 57, KEARSARGE 46

The Cougars (8-1) stay hot as they hand Kearsarge their first loss of the season. Logan Rice collected 17 points and 10 rebounds, Jack Breton chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds and Cayden Deleon had 10 points with nine assists. Campbell hosts Hillsboro-Deering on Monday.

MILFORD 37,PLYMOUTH 17

The Spartans clamped down on defense, keyed by Brady O’Connor off the bench.

PELHAM 49, SOUHEGAN 43

The Sabers were held down by the Pythons dropping their record to 5-3. Wes Hickman had a team high 16 points and Max Hayes had 11. Souhegan visits Manchester West on January 24.

HANOVER 53, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 50

Alton Williams and James Arthur had 15 points each while Yarie Ramas had 10 for the Cavs, who are now 6-4 after a down-to-the-wire game with at home with the Bears.

The two teams were tied at 38 entering the final quarter, and after two Hanover free throws, an HB 3-point attempt rimmed out at the buzzer.Ramas and Arthur also played well defensively. The Cavs are at John Stark on Tuesday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

NASHUA NORTH 67, SPAULDING 9

The Titans (3-4) win in dominant fashion at home on Friday as everyone on the roster scored, led by Angie King (14 points), Reagan Campbell (12), Lily Small (11) and Kayla Dahl (seven).

North hosts Winnacunnet on Tuesday.

MILFORD 65, PLYMOUTH 34

Avery Fuller scored a season high 23 points in the Spartans (6-1) fourth straight win. Shea Hansen (16 points) knocked down four three-pointers and Lexi Bausha (13 points) hit three as Milford hit nine as a team beyond the arc. Milford hosts Oyster River on January 24.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 38, HANOVER 36

The Cavs (5-3) survive a close battle with Hanover on Friday night. Mya Blackman scored 10 points and Payton Dunn added nine. Anika Carlson ripped down 12 of HB’s 32 rebounds. HB hosts John Stark on Tuesday.

KEARSARGE 33, CAMPBELL 19

The Cougars drop to 2-7 after their loss on Friday. Kayla Denwiddie scored seven points and Zoe Bourque had six.

Campbell visits Hillsboro-Deering on Monday.
