Thursdays are usually light nights on the high school schedule and last night was no exception, but the Nashua South girls basketball team probably could have used a break. They competed but fell short against one of Division I’s best teams.
Throw in a little skiing from the afternoon and gymnastics from late Wednesday night, and here’s some light reading:
GIRLS BASKETBALL
WINDHAM 49, NASHUA SOUTH 36
The Panthers got 20 points from Nicole De Jesus but it wasn’t enough as they fell to 4-4.
Windham, now 8-0, led 8-6 lead after the first quarter but expanded it to 25-14 and the Panthers never really recovered, trailing 39-25 after three. South cut it to 41-31 but that was it.
Addie Borden added six points for the Panthers, who are at Salem on Tuesday.
