HS Roundup: Locals do well at Nashua tourney; BG, Admirals win

The snow was falling and the teams were still playing.
That was the story on Saturday, a s Nashua had its annual Hall of Fame Invitational Wrestling tourney at South and other local hockey teams were in action.

WRESTLING
EXETER WINS NASHUA HALL OF FAME TOURNEY
The Blue Hawks totaled 193 points, followed by East Hartford in second (189.5), with Bedford (164) taking third. Reading (Mass.) was fourth at 141, ahead of the top local finisher, Hollis Brookline, which was fifth (125).
Bishop Guertin (108.5) was seventh while Milford (104) was eighth. Nashua North (99) was 10th and host Nashua South (97) was 11th. Merrimack was 17th (19 points).
For the Cavs, Caden Bruseo took first at 138, while Victor Lomme was second at 113 and Jacob Critchfield was second at 157. Hunter Knight took fifth at 126, while Jacob Velez (175) and Michael Marsolini (106) were both sixth.
The Cards got firsts from James Algeo (132) and Bishop Kearns (285) while Austin Steinruck (126) and Dominic Stamp (138) were both fourth. Jack Foster was fifth at 150.
Milford got two fourths, Max Hammerstrom at 132 and Nate Post at 190. The Spartans had three fifths: Elijah Wales (215), Jace Wilhelmi (157) and Kane Davis (120) while Noah Kittredge took sixth at 165.
The Titans had a good tournament, as Hayden Durocher took second at 126 and three thirds, Owen Gagnon at 120, Gavin Page at 132 and Kayden Vallerand-Kennaeally(150).Julian Arias pallandi was fifth at 144.
The Panthers had the most firsts of any local, two – Ben Byrne at 150 and Connor Whitman at 165. Johny McDevitt was fourth at 144 and Nicholas Samos fifth at 175.
SOUHEGAN 39, LONDONDERY 28
The Sabers got a win in a quad meet at Bow. Saber winners were Landon Carson at 132 (pin), Cole Brandt at 144 (pin), and Chase Knuckles at 150 (6-5 decision),
BOYS HOCKEY
BISHOP GUERTIN 6, WINDHAM 0
Sean Schultz scored twice for the Cards, now x-x, while Jordan O’Hearn had a goal and an assist. Cam Miller, Noah Cordiero and Ryan Mogienicki each had single goals. Sean Hughes had two assists while other assists were by Dom Trepanier, James Mantone, Cam Auger, Ryan Mogielnicki and Will McBournie . Now 3-2, BG visits North-Souhegan at Conway Arena on Wednesday.
ALVIRNE-MILFORD 7, GOFFSTOWN 6 (OT)
The Admirals (3-2) won their second straight overtime game, this time on the second of two goals by Braydon Atwood.
Brandon Ganas (goal, three assists), Brandon Callahan (goal, two assists), Bryce Larco (goal, assist) and Chris Bozza (two assists) all had multiple point games, with Mason Tomkins and Dylan Macleod also getting goals at Saint Anselm’s Sullivan Arena.
The Admirals host Bishop Brady/Merrimack Valley on Wednesday at Skate 3
SPAULDING 4, MHBDS 0
The Merrimack-Hollis Brookline-Derryfield tri-op (4-2) saw its three-game win streak with Ryan Dube scoring two goals for the Red Raiders (4-1) at Manchester’s West Side Arena.
Collin Mcintyre got the shutout in goal for the visitors.
MHBDS heads to face Lebanon-Stevens-Mascoma on Wednesday.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 53, EPPING 17 (Friday)
The Warriors (5-2) jumped out to a 17-5 lead and never looked back led by Maddy Labrecque’s 24 points and 21 from Kelsey Crouse.
WLC is at Franklin on Monday.
