At least this one wasn’t a tie.
The Nashua High School South boys soccer team picked up a big 3-0 win over city rival Bishop Guertin on Saturday at Hudson’s Presentation of Mary Academy Field, the only one of the three all-city boys soccer battles that didn’t end up in a tie. North and South ended 1-1 last month, and just the other day North and BG played to a scoreless tie.
Leo Lopez, Kevin Araujo and Michele Esposito got the goals for the Panthers, who are now 6-4-1. Antonio Pancine had the shutout in goal.
Beau Baughter had six saves for Guertin, which is now 3-5-6 and still in dogfight to make the Division I tourney. The Cards are seeking their first win in over a month, and will be at Keene on Tuesday while South visits Londonderry.
Saturday’s game was orginally scheduled for 11 a.m. but was moved to 5:30 p.m. due to a scheduling conflict.
There was a tough Nashua girls soccer loss other than North’s vs. BG to tell you about. It was aLso a great Saturday for golf, as the NHIAA season ended with the final round of the individual tourney:
GIRLS SOCCER
PINKERTON 4, NASHUA SOUTH 0
The Panthers are now winless in their last five (0-3-2) after the Astros improved to 8-3-3.
Now at 6-6-2, South hosts Londonderry on Tuesday.
