HS Roundup: Cards snap streak; North girls soccer wins big

It had been a tough week for the Bishop Guertin High School field hockey team, but that changed on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Cardinals girls volleyball team picked up a big win yesterday as well.
Here’s a look at a fairly quiet day around the area:
FIELD HOCKEY
BISHOP GUERTIN 3, LONDONDERRY 0
The Cardinals finished their solid regular season at 11-4-1, snapping a three-game losing streak as Sophie Bilodeau scored two goals and Addison Daddona had a goal and an assist.
Other assists went to Emiley Vincinguerra and Maddie Harrington.
The Cardinals will now get a week off until likely hosting a Divison I preliminary round game next Wednesday.
PINKERTON 9, NASHUA SOUTH 0
Isabelle Shiju had 15 saves in goal for the Panthers (3-12), who will now wind up their season at home on Friday vs. Exeter.
GIRLS SOCCER
NASHUA NORTH 14, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 0
It was a senior celebration for the Titans, as nearly every senior scored as they improved to 8-4-1. Alli Frye, Mary Pappas and Ari Miller each had three goals while Sarah Frye had a pair. Rachel Gauthier, Claire Hilderbrand and Brielle Baxter all had a goal apiece. Nora Ross had a goal but it was waved off on an off-sides call.
The Fryes split the assists for North, which takes on Bishop Guertin at Presentation of Mary on Saturday at 1 p.m.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
BISHOP GUERTIN 3, GOFFSTOWN 1
The Cardinals reached double digits in wins (10-4) by winning the last two sets 25-18, 25-10 after splitting the first two 25-17, 16-25.
Outside hitter Arika Coravos, libero Veronica Gomez, setter Brooke Partridge, and right side hitter Caitlin Harrington played well. BG will host Keene today at the Colligadome.
PORTSMOUTH 3, ALVIRNE 1 (Tuesday)
The Broncos spotted the Clippers a 2-0 lead in sets to fall to 0-14 by the count of 20-25, 22-25, 25-14, 17-25.
Courtney Anderson (seven kills, two aces, three digs), Kloey Zink (three aces, four digs, five kills) and Mena Lewis (20 assists, four aces, 10 digs) all played well for the Broncos, who are at Londonderry on Friday.
CO-ED UNIFIED SOCCER
KEENE 4, NASHUA NORTH 3
The Titans fell despite a stout defensive performance from the sibling duo of Gavin and Riley Suchecki. Nick Mercier converted a penalty kick for the Titans for his second goal in two games.
