Their wait is over.

The Nashua High School North football players could finally leave a football field with smiles on their faces as they blanked Goffstown on the road, 17-0, on Friday night.

North is now 1-5 and trending upward, as they lost a week ago in the final seconds but ignited what had been a dormant offense. Last night Luke Peters ran for two TDs while Marco Raposo hit a 32-yard field goal.

“It was great to see the kids get the win,” North coach Chad Zibolis said. “They have worked hard all season and it was great to see them pull it off.”

Darius Smith and Dharyus Sisay also ran the ball well for the Titans, who are at Londonderry next Friday.

“You could just see the excitement and the weight come off their shoulders,” Zibolis said of his players. “Proud of the kids.”

The Cougars snapped a four-game skid in Peterborough, running roughshod over the Cavaliers as backs Elliot Featherstone, Henry Hartwell and Roman Cadawallader combined for 355 yards and five TDs rushing the football.

The Cougars (2-4) led 39-0 at halftime.

Dylan Morelli hit Cole Duncan for a 51-yard touchdown in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to break the shutout. Morelli then ran in the two-point conversion. Morelli finished 3-for-16 through the air for 61 yards, adding 26 on the ground.

The Cavaliers (0-6) were outgained 442-137 in total yards. ConVal racked up 338 yards on the ground. HB hosts Pembroke next Friday at 7 p.m.
