It was an up and down day for local high school field hockey contenders.
The up: Hollis Brookline continued its winning ways. The down: Bishop Guertin suffered its second straight loss in two days.
Here’s a look at a light Wednesday, which means it will be a busy Thursday for sure:
FIELD HOCKEY
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 5, PELHAM 0
Sabrina Hill had two goals and Nyah Jernberg had a goal and two assists as the Cavs improved to 11-1.
Addie Marchant and Emily Tebbets also scored for HB, while goalie Madie Barich had two saves for the shutout.
HB hosts Pembroke on Friday.
EXETER 2, BISHOP GUERTIN 1
The Cards, who fell to Dover on Tuesday, couldn’t muster enough offense on the scoreboard, at least, as they fell to 10-3-1, after enjoying a 10-game unbeaten streak before the last two days. Maddie Harrington got BG’s goal while Ayla Saeturn played well in goal.
It doesn’t get any easier as BG is at Pinkerton on Monday.
DOVER 3, NASHUA SOUTH 1
The 11-2-1 Green Wave followed up its win the other day at Rivier by beating the Panthers, who were in it most of the way, trailing just 1-0 with five minutes to play.
Saige Devins scored for South with four minutes left off a pass from Keegan Dolan.
Playing well for the Panthers were goalie Isabelle Shiju (13 saves), Karina O’Donnell, Wylia Hart, Molly Mullaney and Emily Richrd.
The 3-11 Panthers are off until they visit Pinkerton next Wednesday.

North will finish up at 8-15 – the Titans had to play all their matches on the road – and will miss the Division I state tourney as a team, but Goulet and Prunier will compete in Tuesday’s event at Canterbury Woods which also serves as the first round of the Division I individual tourney.
