HS Roundup: North girls stun Bedford; Titan boys top Alvirne

Call it a Titan Tuesday.

Both the Nashua High School North boys and girls soccer teams won yesterday, but it’s the girls team that can probably celebrate the most as the Titans upset powerful Bedford (10-2) at Bedford. Yes, that’s a pretty big win.

It was a busy day with all the results, plus some news on a Thursday fundraiser for Nashua South athletics:

GIRLS SOCCER

NASHUA NORTH 2, BEDFORD 0

The Titans (6-4-1) snap their three game losing streak on the road against the Bulldogs. Sarah Frye was the only one to find the back of the net. Nora Ross and Rachel Gauthier combined for 20 saves.

North hosts Alvirne on Saturday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, HANOVER 0

The Cardinals record sits at 10-1 after their win on Tuesday. Madison Long, Emerson Brown and Zoe Horton-Sousa scored one goal apiece. Ava Suech collected two assists. Jess LaCroix earned the shutout. BG visits Salem on Thursday.

PINKERTON 5, MERRIMACK 0

The Tomahawks (2-7-1) tally another one in the loss column after two straight wins. Merrimack visits Timberlane on Friday.

MILFORD 3, LACONIA 0

Claire Cote leads the offense with two goals in the Spartans (4-4-3) shutout win. Other contributing in the win were Kinsley Matsis (goal), Haleigh Lloyd (assist), Lexi Bausha (assist), Maya Remella (assist) and Molly Miles (save). Milford visits ConVal on Friday.

SOUHEGAN 0, LEBANON 0

Nobody could get one by the defense in Amherst Tuesday afternoon. Souhegan (3-4-5) hosts Pembroke on Thursday.

BOYS SOCCER

NASHUA NORTH 3, ALVIRNE 1

The Titans (4-4-3) defeat the Broncos (0-8-3) to keep them winless on season, thanks to Aidan Valcourt’s hat trick. Amani Santos and Brady Martin each had an assist.

North hosts Bedford and Alvirne visits Manchester Central on Thursday.

NASHUA SOUTH 1, DOVER 0

The Panthers (5-4-2) were able to sneak by a winless Dover squad. South hosts Goffstown on Thursday.

HANOVER 4, BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals were outpaced when they visited Hanover. BG hosts Salem on Saturday.

MERRIMACK 1, PINKERTON 1

Noah Morrison scored a goal late in the second half to tie up the game. Merrimack (5-4-3) hosts Timberlane on Thursday.

COE-BROWN 2, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0

The Cavs (6-4-1) got shutout on Tuesday when Coe-Brown made a visit. HB hosts Bow on Thursday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

NASHUA SOUTH 3, SALEM 2

The Panthers (9-3) win the battle against the Blue Devils 18-25, 25-16, 25-12, 17-25, 15-13. Mia Suljic (17 kills, 11 digs, four aces), Molly Lecklider (11 kills, 15 digs, two aces) and Rebecca Walters (17 assists, seven digs) led the locals. South hosts Winnacunnet on Thursday.

WINDHAM 3, NASHUA NORTH 0

Ruby Zeman and Taylor Joyal played well in the Titans (6-6) loss. North hosts Goffstown on Thursday.

BEDFORD 3, BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals (8-4) fall to the Bulldogs 16-25, 19-25, 12-25. Akira Coravos, Brooke Partridge, Allison Marino and Veronica Gomez each had good performances. BG visits Windham on Thursday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, WINNACUNNET 0

The Cavs (9-3) sweep the Warriors 25-17, 26-24, 25-18. Dominating on the court were Anika Carlson (12 kills, six aces), Kate Berrigan (eight kills, ace), Lolly Adair (three kills, four aces), Maggie Noble (three kills) and Angelina Dillberg (three aces). HB visits Exeter on Thursday.

SOUTH FUNDRAISER

On Thursday, McDonald’s owners/operators in Nashua are hosting a digital fundraiser to support Nashua High School South’s athletics. From 3-9 p.m., 20 percent of all app sales will be donated to the South athletic program.

If you don’t have a credit card, you can order through the McDonalds app and pay at the restaurant.
