The Nashua North-South Battle of the Bridge, of course, is not the only local high school football game going on tonight and Saturday. Here’s a Week 4 capsule look at the other games:

ALVIRNE (3-0) at WINDHAM (1-1, 1-3 overall)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Windham HS.

LAST WEEK: Alvirne 48, Timberlane 20; Pinkerton 24, Windham 8.

LAST YEAR: Windham 49, Alvirne 14.

FYI: The Jags were missing starting QB Kevin Murphy (concussion) last week so we’ll see if he’s back after the Jaguars couldn’t contain Astros back Matt Morrison. Can they stop Bronco back Mike Landmesser? That remains to be seen, but this would be a huge one for Alvirne to get before they have to go to Londonderry next week.

THE PICK: Alvirne 28, Windham 20. The Broncos get a big win on the road.

KEENE (2-1) at MERRIMACK (1-1, 1-2 overall).

WHEN: 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: MHS Student Memorial Field.

LAST WEEK: Goffstown 20, Merrimack 19: Keene 23, Nashua North 20.

LAST YEAR: Keene 12, Merrimack 0

FYI: The Blackbirds won the line of scrimmage last week, holding North to 52 yards, and will look to do that again, but Merrimack’s Sahil Mujuwar as a multi-faceted QB will try to spark his offense. Keene isn’t all ground (back Sawyer Lepple) as QB Kasen Abbott can throw – witness an 81-yard catch-and-run play to Colin Tinnin.

THE PICK: Merrimack 20, Keene 17. Tomahawks are always tough to predict, but this week the close one is in their favor.

DIVISION II

JOHN STARK (1-2) at MILFORD (1-2)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Milford High School.

LAST WEEK: Milford 48, Hollis Brookline 12; Souhegan 45, John Stark 14.

LAST YEAR: John Stark 30, Milford 27

FYI: Milford’s Gavyn and Kadyn Tessier certainly came of age, as did the rest of the Spartans last week vs. HB. The trick will be to keep things moving in that direction. Hold down Generals QB Joey Dykstra – they have to be reeling from the Souhegan loss – and it should be a close one, like last year. Spartans never really recovered back then from losing a big lead in the season opener.

THE PICK: Milford 22, John Stark 20. Spartans return the favor from last year.

MANCHESTER WEST (2-0) at SOUHEGAN (3-0)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Souhegan HS in Amherst.

LAST WEEK: Souhegan 45, John Stark 12; Manchester West xxx, ConVal xxx

LAST YEAR: Souhegan 53, Manchester West 0.

FYI: This may be the first real competitive test for the Sabers this year as West is also scoring at a high clip, led by QB Gio Doria plus backs Elias Abreu and Jarome Henert. Souhegan QB Michael Fiengo, who either threw or ran for a combined five TDs, giving him 10 for the year. This could be a fast pace; both teams play on turf. But consider this: West had to play Monday, so the Knights will be a little banged up and fatigue could be a factor.

THE PICK: Souhegan 42, Manchester West 22. Sabers pull away in the fourth.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE (0-3) at PELHAM (3-0)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Pelham HS.

LAST WEEK: Milford 48, HB 22; Pelham 24, Hanover 0.

LAST YEAR: Pelham 64, HB 0.

FYI: The Cavs got their offense going a bit last week, with Sam Bruneau racing for two 65 TD runs and Winston Feeney breaking loose for a 42-yard non-scoring jaunt. Pelham, working on its 44 game winning streak – fourth longest in the country at last look — has Ben Maslanek and Junior McKinnon as a double rushing threat. Old friend Justin Hufft is their coach following the sudden departure of John Trisciani, but the Pythons seem to be still on point. These two programs are in two vastly different places.

THE PICK: Pelham 44, HB 6. Sure looks like win No. 45 in a row.

DIVISION III

SOMERSWORTH (2-1) at CAMPBELL (3-0) at INTER-

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Campbell High School

LAST WEEK: Somersworth 36, Sanborn 14; Campbell

LAST YEAR: Did not play.

Campbell’s formula doesn’t change, especially at home on grass under the lights – run Scott and Nick Hershberger and see if you can stop them. But the Cougar defense will need to play well as the Hilltoppers rushed for a whopping 364 yards last week vs. Sanborn. Blayne Belanger and Hunter Fonseca are defensive keys for the ‘Toppers.

THE PICK: Campbell 22, Somersworth 14. ‘Toppers give the Cougars a fight.

SATURDAY

DIVISION I

BISHOP GUERTIN (1-2) at NORTH MIDDLESEX (1-1)

WHEN: 3 p.m.

WHERE: North Middlesex HS.in Townsend, Mass.

LAST WEEK: Bedford 35, Bishop Guertin 13; Greater Lowell Tech 35, NM 28.

LAST YEAR: Did not play.

FYI: The Cardinals certainly showed how they can run the ball with A.J. Holmes behind a growing line, but together long drives vs. Bedford, but also defensively saw how they can be beat as the Bulldogs threw on them in the second half. But North Middlesex gave up over 246 rushing yards last week, So BG may attack there. NM has some seniors up front and at key skill spots, but young elsewhere. Jayce Szatkowski is a junior QB but can also play TE and LB.

THE PICK Bishop Guertin 21, North Middlesex 20. We’d be lying if we had a good handle on it, but Cards get a bounce-back win.
