HS Roundup: BG field hockey wins again; Cards volleyball tops ‘Hawks

They just keep on winning.

Yes, the Bishop Guertin High School girls field hockey team won its seventh straight game on Wednesday, while the Cardinals girls volleyball team won an all-area showdown with Merrimack in two of Division I’s better teams.

That and a few other outcomes are right below:

FIELD HOCKEY

BISHOP GUERTIN 5, WINDHAM 0

The Cardinals (8-1) win their fourth straight game via shutout on Wednesday against the Jaguars. Addison Daddona (two goals), Maddie Harrington (goal, assist), Sophie Bilodeau (two goals, assist) and Carly Green (assist) led the offense. BG visits Keene on Monday.

MERRIMACK 5, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Tomahawks (2-6) outpaced the Panthers (2-7) in a shutout win thanks to Ava Martin’s three goals and scores by Mia Flores and Allie Wyand.

Meury Navarette made 11 saves for South. Merrimack visits Salem on Saturday and South visits Windham on Monday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, MERRIMACK 1

The Cardinals (5-1) defeat the Tomahawks (7-2) by the scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 25-15. BG standouts were Brooke Patridge, Veronica Gomez, Akira Coravos and Allison Marino. Merrimack had great performances from Amelia Walker (12 kills, three aces), Rachel Flett (15 kills, three aces), Sadie Cote (four kills), Noor Eldeib (30 assists, seven digs, two kills) and Abby Herrod (four kills). BG visits Londonderry on Friday and Merrimack visits Exeter on Monday.

SALEM 3, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1

The Cavs (5-2) fall to the Blue Devils 29-27, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23. HB hosts Spaulding on Monday.

GOLF

WINDHAM 208, EXETER 213, NASHUA NORTH 218, KEENE 219

The Titans ended the day in third in their match at Windham Country Club. Conor Prunier shot a 38 to earn medalist honors. Drew Goulet added a 41, Dawson Bolton 45, Tommy Dratch a 47, and Ryder Clancy a 48 to help out North as well.

BOYS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2, PLYMOUTH 1 (Tuesday)

The Cavs were down 1-0 but battled back on goals by Noah Natalino off a Deegan Herrera feed and Andrew Desmarais, off a pass from Colin Magnuszewski, with just a few minutes remaining.

Now 5-2, HB is at local rival Souhegan today at 6:30 p.m.
