Rivier Roundup: It’s win, lose and draw for Raider teams

NASHUA — The Rivier women’s volleyball team improved to 3-4 with a 3-0 win over Lesley University on Tuesday night.

Riv got the sweep with set scores of 25-7, 25-12, 25-13, led by Savannah Dunne’s eight kills. Lydia Brakefield had three kills while Annabelle Lozzi, Leagh Brown, Kacey Riseorough, Ali Rivera and Bryn Roche all had two kills apiece. Ryan Hicks had five kills for the Raiders, who after two straight wins host Gordon College on Thursday at the Muldoon Center.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

RIVIER 1, MASS MARITIME 1

The Raiders got a goal from Emily Harper, unassisted at 48:13, to take a 1-0 lead at Merrill Field. However, Mass Maritime’s Karah Deveau, assisted by Brady Deschamps, evened the score at 57:53, and that’s how things stayed.

Bri Nugent had five saves in goal for the Raiders, who are still seeking their first win at 0-2-2. They’ll try to get that today at 4 p.m. at Merrill Field vs. New England College.

FIELD HOCKEY

FRAMINGHAM STATE 1, RIVIER 0

The visiting Raiders managed just three shots on goal and FSU scored the only goal it would need off the stick of Ashley Malmquist in the second quarter.

Kylie Coupal had five saves for Rivier, now 1-2 and set to host GNAC foe Albertus Magnus on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Merrill Field.
