Division II Track: Hollis Brookline girls take third

The Hollis Brookline girls had a great showing in the Divsion II Outdoor Track championships on Friday at Oyster River High School in Durham.

The Cavaliers finished third with 53 points, behind overwhelming winner Oyster River (137) and second place Coe Brown (61.50). Elsewhere locally, Milford (18) was 10th and Souhegan (15.50) was 12th.

In the boys, Hanover won the title with 93 points, while Coe Brown edged host Oyster River 66-65 for second. Locally, Milford took sixth with 44 points while Souhegan (36) was eighth and Hollis Brookline (26) ninth.

BOYS

Hollis Brookline’s Samuel Bruneau had a time of 10.83 ton win the 100 dash. Bruneau also finished runner up in the 200 dash with a time of 22.40. John McCole placed third in the discus throw and Brady McCammack was fifth in the 300 hurdles.

Milford’s Logan Korthals, Grant Skorupan, Will Whitley and Daniel Sixon had a time of 8:13.56 to win the 4×800 relay. Avery Wilson ran a 22.39 to win the 200 dash and placed third in the 100 dash. Sixon, Korthals, Skorupan and Wilson finished runner up in the 4×400 relay (3:33.05). Matthew Pettingell, Wilson, Joshua Pettingell and Kenyon Sora ended the 4×100 relay in third. Korthals finished fifth in the 800 run, Charles Cevasco was sixth in the 110 hurdles and Sora was sixth in the 400 dash.

Souhegan’s Cole Henderson ran a time of 15.71 to win the 110 hurdles and finished sixth in the 300 hurdles. Owen Pisinski was second in the pole vault (12-0) and Brody Smith was second in the 400 dash (50.64).

Finley Irvine was fourth in the 800 run, Owen Stine finished fifth in the 3200 run and John Katsel placed sixth in the long jump. In the 4×100 relay it was Katsel, Smith, Henderson and Carson Behn finishing in sixth. Irvine, Ben Gaudet, Taloosh Anderson and Smith were sixth in the 4×400 relay.

GIRLS MEET

Hollis Brookline’s Addison Fyfe won the pole vault with a height of 9-0. Grace Dow ran a 15.34 in the 100 hurdles to finish in the runner up spot and a time 47.68 to finish second in the 300 hurdles.

Adrienne Thibault, Margaret Noble, Maia Arthur and Dow were second in the 4×100 relay with a time of 51.48. In the 4×400 relay Annika Bergin, Brooke Bouchard, Claire Ballou and Ana O’Donnell were in the runner up position with a time of 4:14.39. Ballou was third in the 300 hurdles, O’Donnell finished fifth in the 400 dash, Noble placed fifth in the 100 dash and Anika Carlson was sixth in the high jump.

Milford’s Keely Giordano finished second in the 100 dash (12.50) and the 200 dash (25.96). Zoe Rick placed fifth in the shot put. Souhegan’s Samantha Swanbon finished second in the 800 run (2:23.83) and third in the 1600 run. Grace Kennedy, Madelyn Mooney, Brighton Smith and Anna Brammer-DePuy were sixth in the 4×800 relay.
