Get ready for a Memorial Day Weekend filled with some memorable athletic performances as the starting gun sounds for NHIAA Divisional Boys and Girls Track meets.

While the Division III meet was held yesterday, today is Division II’s turn at Oyster River, beginning at 4 p.m.

The headliner will be the Division I meet, set for Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.at Portsmouth High School.

Here are some of the top local seeds in certain events:

DIVISON I BOYS

Nashua South’s Ethan Schnyer appears to have posted the best regular season time in the 200 dash, while Barion Perry is seeded second in the 400,

The Panthers are seeded third in the 4×800 relay and second in the 4×100 relay, just a tenth of a second behind the Astros of Pinkerton.

Bishop Guertin’s Matt Giardina is the one to beat in the 3200.

In field events, Nashua North’s Darius Smith is looking for a shot put-discus double win, and he’s seeded No. 1 in both. North’s Gavin Suchecki is among the top seeds in the high jump

South’s Marcell Perry is seeded third in the long jump,

DIVISION I GIRLS

It’s about speed in this meet for the locals

Nashua South’s Nyah Musa and Soraya Ross are ranked 1-2 in the 100,

Nashua North’s Jhanelle Thomas is ranked second in the 300 hurdles and the 4×400 relay team she anchors is seeded second.

DIVISION II BOYS

Hollis Brookline’s Sam Bruneau is the sprinter to beat, seeded first in the 100 and 200.

Milford’s Logan Korthals is ranked third in the 1600, just ahead of Souhegan’s Owen Stine, seeded fourth. Stine is ranked third in the 3200, if he chooses to double. Milford’s 4×100 relay team is seeded third,just ahead of Souhegan. Korthals is part of the 4×400 relay ranked second, and he and Daniel Sixon are on the second seeded 4×800 relay.

Milford may make some hay in the field events. Ethan Morin is No. 2 in the high jump,

Souhegan’s Cole Henderson is seeded first in the 110 hurdles and second in the 300 hurdles and Souhegan’s Owen Pisinski is ranked third in the pole vault.

DIVISION II GIRLS

Milford will be paced by Keeley

Giordano, seeded second in the 200 and, third in the 100 and 400,

Souhegan’s Samantha Swanbon is ranked fourth in the 1600

Grace Dow is the name to watch for the HB girls, as she is ranked second in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and she anchors the second seeded 4×100 relay team. Her Cavs teammate Clair Ballou is the third 300 hurdles seed. The Cavs’ 4×400 relay is seeded second behind Oyster River, and Addison Fyfe is ranked second in the pole vault.
