HS Roundup: O’Donnell paces South girls lax; Milford nine tops HB

The final week of the high school spring regular season is upon us, and a few local teams took care of business to get off to a good start as they head toward the finish:

GIRLS LACROSSE

NASHUA SOUTH 15, EXETER 8

Karina O’Donnell tallied six goals and an assist in the Panthers (9-7) win on Senior Night. Ella Benzekri (four goals, assist), Morgan Uzdanovich (two goals, two assists), Maren Lowell (two goals, assist), Maddie Matylewski (goal) and Keira Walsh (four saves) added to the box score.

Audrey Mullaney, Abbey Benotti, Abby Herlihy, Benzekri, Matylewski, Uzdanovich and Walsh were honored on Senior Night. South visits Keene on Wednesday.

PINKERTON 17, NASHUA NORTH 2

The Titans (1-15) were outpaced by the Astros in Derry. Savanna Basford and Molly Ducharme each recorded a goal. Mya Zibolis and Elliott Brown had 12 and 10 saves respectively. North hosts Bishop Guertin on Wednesday.

SOUHEGAN 17, DOVER 9

The Sabers win streak sits at seven after they defeated Dover. Libby Kennedy scored four goals and Natalie Heimarck added three goals to lead Souhegan. Izzy Stevenson (two goals, assist), Lyla Kimball (two goals, two assists), Maddie Lim (goal), Emma Kennedy (goal, assist), Lanai Hickman (two goals) and Abby Giannetti (two goals, two assists) also contributed to the offense. Souhegan hosts Pinkerton on Wednesday.

WINNACUNNET 13, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 5

The Cavs (9-6) lose their third straight game on Monday. Playing well for HB were Cailean Roy (goal, assist), Teagan Arbogast (goal), Blake Curley (goal), Juliette Ogren (goal, seven ground balls), Sabrina Hill (goal), Samantha Smith (assist) and Addison Dougherty (20 saves). HB hosts Spaulding on Friday.

BOYS LACROSSE

MILFORD 9, STEVENS 6

Braydon Atwood netted six goals to lead the Spartans (1-12) to their first win of the season. Tyler Descoteaux scored two goals and Simon MacFarlane added one. Chris Quezada and Dylan MacLeod each tallied an assist and Brennan Cassidy stopped 13 shots. Milford hosts Gilford on Wednesday.

BASEBALL

MILFORD 12, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2

Bryce Larco had a double and six RBIs in the Spartans (6-8) win over the Cavs (4-11). Logan Howard collected two hits, a RBI and two stolen bases. Mike Lima pitched a complete game giving up one earned run on three hits and striking out six. Travis LaFontaine , Dylan Morelli (RBI) and Thomas Howie had hits for HB. Milford visits ConVal on Wednesday and HB

WINNACUNNET 4, NASHUA SOUTH 2

The Panthers (4-12) losing streak sits at eight after a loss to the Warriors. Anthony Tollentino, Chase O’Brien and Ryan Arnesan had hits. Mason Joshi pitched five and one-third innings with three strikeouts. South visits Timberlane on Wednesday.

ALVIRNE 7, KEENE 5

The Broncos (5-12) capitalized on opportunities and squeezed out a win against the Blackbirds. Leading the offense were Mike Bebris (hit, run), Logan Casey (hit, two runs), Jaxson Polleck (two runs, RBI), Kyle Dufour (hit, RBI), Devin Smith (RBI) and Charlie Crawford (run). Casey pitched five innings allowing five runs on six hits. Alvirne visits Londonderry on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL

WINNACUNNET 6, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers (2-13) lose their seventh consecutive game when they visited the Warriors. Charlotte Primeau an Emily Richard had one hit each for the locals. South hosts Manchester West-Trinity on Tuesday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 22, NASHUA NORTH 1

The Cardinals offense erupted as they improved to 10-7 with their third straight, getting hot at the right time as they wrap up the regular season today at Windham.

North fell to 0-15. The Titans have three more games remaining to get that elusive first win, beginning today vs. Manchester Central-Memorial at North.

GOFFSTOWN 9, MERRIMACK 4

The Tomahawks fell to 9-6 despite Avery Hui’s fine day as she went 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Each team had 11 hits.

Lily Dionne, Marisa Nelson and Julia Hoag each had two hits apiece in the loss. The ‘Hawks take on Londonderry today.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 9, MILFORD 4

Kailey Disco struck out seven in the Cavs (10-5) win over the Spartans (4-10). Disco also added to the offense with a single, triple and three runs scored.

Liv Colantuonio (two singles, run), Savannah Duquette (double, three runs, two RBIs), Emily Tebbetts (single, double, run, RBI) and Katrina Lee (run) played well in the win.

Milford’s Alivia Mazzeo led the team with three hits, while Mya Coombs and Haley Harrington had two apiece. Mazzeo struck out three in the loss.

HB visits Merrimack Valley and Milford visits ConVal on Wednesday.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, COE-BROWN 1

The visiting Cavaliers recovered after losing the first set 25-27 to take the next three 25-15, 25-23, 25-18 to improve to 11-3.

Ethan Norris had 21 kills and two aces, while Jordan Beck added 15 kills and two aces. Sam Hersey added 14 clutch assists.

HB hosts Goffstown on Wednesday for its Senior Night at 5:45 p.m.
