There was no doubt as the high school season went on that the key to Merrimack High School’s hockey success was senior defenseman Conor Dunn.

The other coaches around Division II definitely agreed. Dunn was named the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Division II All-State Player of the Year, topping the list of locals who earned honors in three boys divisions and the one girls hockey division. Dunn was a superb two-way player this year who became even more of a go-to player once teammate Eliot Medlock’s season was cut short. He had 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points.

Locally, there weren’t a plethora of players on the teams selected by the coaches around the state. Dunn was the only Tomahawk player selected, despite the fact they were the top seed going into the tournament. Alvirne-Milford goalie Trent Scarbro was Division II’s First Team goalie while Admirals forward Bryce Larco and defenseman Cade Bouchard were Honorable Mentions.

In Division I, there were three Honorable Mentions: Nashua North-Souhegan forward Chase McBride, and Bishop Guertin defenseman Caleb Yeung and goalie Ethan Casey.

In Division III, Pembroke-Campbell had four players on the team but the only Campbell player was senior defenseman Patrick Chamberlain on Honorable Mention.

As for the Girls All-State team, there was just one local: Bishop Guertin senior defenseman Gracie Menicci was a First Teamer.
