There has been a different feeling around the Alvirne-Milford High School boys hockey team this year. And now they have a Final Four Feeling.

The No. 6 Admirals upset No. 3 Winnacunnet of Hampton, 4-2 on Saturday night in the Division II quarterfinals. Alvirne-Milford will now face No. 2 Oyster River in Wednesday’s semifinals at 7:30 pm.at Concord’s Everett Arena.

“It’s freaking amazing,” Admirals coach Dave Thibeault said. “They were definitely focused in that locker room.”

Meanwhile, the Pembroke-Campbell co-op ousted Hollis Brookline-Derryfield, 2-0, in a tight quarter at Concord’s Everett Arena. The Spartan-Cougars will take on No. 6 Kearsarge-Plymouth in Wednesday’s semis at Plymouth State Univiversity.

There is also a New England boys track champion runner from Bishop Guertin, and a couple of girls placed in the New England Wrestling championsships in Providence.

Here’s a look:

BOYS HOCKEY QUARTERS

DIVISION II

NO. 6 ALVIRNE-MILFORD 4, NO. 3 WINNACUNNET 2

The Warriors took a 1-0 lead but the Admirals scored the next three goals to come away with the win at Phillips Exeter and reach the semifinals for the first time in the co-op’s brief history.

James Nemeth had two goals, including the game winner off an assist from Cedrik Beaulieu. Brandon Callahan had a goal as did Brandon Ganas. Ganas’ score put the Admirals up by two with less than four minutes left, assisted by Braydon Atwood.

The other key for the 10-7-2 Admirals was their consistent key for much of the last eight weeks, goalie Trent Scarbro, who had 48 saves.

DIVISION III

No. 2 PEMBROKE-CAMPBELL 2, No. 7 HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0

The Warriors certainly closed the gap on P-C, after losing 7-1 in the regular season finale. But it simply wasn’t enough as they finished the season 6-12-1.
