HS Roundup: Admirals tie, BG swimmers win three of four, Saber wrestlers rule

It wasn’t a great day for local hockey teams, but it wasn’t a total loss, either, thanks to the Alvirne-Milford Admirals.

The Admirals were down three goals but rallied for a tie, while both Nashua co-op hockey teams weren’t so fortunate.

It was a day for track, swimming and wrestling as well, so let’s get to it:

BOYS HOCKEY

TRINITY 3, NASHUA SOUTH-PELHAM 2

Trinity’s Max Saluto’s goal in the third period was the difference as the Kings fell to 1-5. South-Pelham got a goal and an assist by Cam Cooke and a goal by Andrew Byrne. Dan Byrne added an assist. The Kings host Bow on Wednesday.

LONDONDRRY 7, NASHUA NORTH-SOUHEGAN 3

The Saber-Titans jumped out to a 3-1 lead but then the ice caved in.

The team’s top line did all the scoring with a goal each for Chase McBride, Jacob Landry, and Callen Cullity. McBride had two assists while single assists went to Cullity and Kyle D’Silva.

Now 2-3, North-Souhegan is at Manchester Central-West-Memorial on Wednesday at JFK Coliseum.

ALVIRNE-MILFORD 4, DOVER 4

The Admirals rallied from 3-0 down in the first period, scoring two goals each in the second and third.

Braydon Atwood had a goal and an assist whle Landon Briand, Cedrik Beaulieu and Cade Bouchard also scored.

Other assists went to Brandon Callahah, Brandon Ganas and Mason Tomkins. The result may have been different but the Admirals had a goal disallowed.

Trent Scarbro played well in goal in relief, giving up just a goal in the second period.

The Admirals, now 3-3-1, will be at Monadnock-Fall Mountain-ConVal Monday at 3:15 p.m. Dover is now2-2-3.

SANBORN CO-OP 4, HOLLIS BROOKLINE-DERRYFIELD 2

The Warriors fell to 2-4 in Division III, despite goals by Alex Gertz (with an assist) and one by Charlie Dee. Aden Escandon had two assists and Liam Gagne had 24 saves in goal for the Warriors, who look to bounce back Wednesday night at Kingswood.

BOYS & GIRLS TRACK

HOLLIS BROOKLINE BOYS SECOND, GIRLS FOURTH

The Cavalier boys totaled 64 points, good for second just behind winner Coe-Brown (69) in a 16-team meet at Plymouth State.

The HB girls, meanwhile, were fourth with 40 points, just behind third place Londonderry (44). Kearsarge won the meet at 58 while Belmont was second at 50.

In the boys meet, HB winners were Sam Bruneau in the 55 dash (6.66) and 300 meters (37.69)

Parker Cheyne had two thirds (55, 300). The HB 4×200 team led by Cheyne and Bruneau was second. Andrew Desmarais was second in the high jump.

In the girls meet,

Annika Bergin was second in the 600, Mae Butler took third in the 1500, Sarah Bauer same in the 3000, while the Cavs were third in the 4×200 relay.

Campbell’s bridgette Hidalgo was third in the shot put.

WRESTLING

SOUHEGAN 52, NASHUA NORTH 15

Saber winners were Micah Dibble (190, pin), Alexander Gray (215, pin), Madelyn Brown (113, pin), Landon Carson (126, pin), Logan Brown (132, pin); Chase Knuckle (138, 9-1 major decision), Christian Knuckles (144, pin), Noah Denis (150, pin), and Sam Albert (157, pin).

North’s Caleb Smith won at 120 (5-2 decision).

SOUHEGAN 43, MILFORD 31

Saber wins were by Darwin Brown-Waters at 165 (7-0 decision), Ben Smiley at 120 (pin), Landon Carson at 126 (pin), Chase Knuckle at 138 (pin), Noah Denis at 144 (pin), Christian Knuckles at 150 (12-3 major decision) and Sam Albert at 157 (pin).

Winners for Milford included Kiki Lordan (113, major decsion), Kyule Lajoie (132, decision) and Eli Wales (215, pin).

MILFORD 51, NASHUA NORTH 24

Spartan winners were Lordan at 113 (pin), Colton Schuster at 120 (decision), Kane Davis at 126 (decision), LaJoie at 132 (pin), Evan O’Connell at 144 (pin), Phil Wright at 157 (pin), Brendan Mazzerall at 165 (pin), Nate Post at 175 (decision) and a pin for Wales at 215.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 54, LONDONDERY 27

The Cavs got their wins from Aiden Smith-Nightingale at 113 (pin), Gavin Turcotte at 120 (pin), Gavin Rogers at 126 (pin), Cam Nichols at 165 (pin), Daniel Hallas at 215 (pin), John McCole at 285 (pin) and Guy LaFrenier at 106 (pin).

BOYS & GIRLS SWIMMNG

BG BOYS WIN 2, GIRLS SPLIT

The Guertin boys beat Exeter 56-0 and Alvirne 59-10, while the girls edged Alvirne 74-71 but fell to Exeter 85-64.

In the boys meet, Guertin got firsts from the 200 Medley and 200 Free relays with Stuart Jensen, Asher Griffin, Cooper Paquette, and Krsh Chourasia competing.

Chourasia got a win in the 200 free while Cooper Paquette got wins in the 50 and 500 free.

In the girls meet, the Cards got a first in the 200 Medley relay (Megan Kelly, Nicolette Carlton, Ashley Van Corbach and Lana Ayotte).

Va Corbach won the 50 and 500 free, while Carlton, Ayotte, Addison Wilson and Van Corbach captured the 200 Free relay.
