HS Roundup: Medlock leads ‘Hawks’ rout of Timberlane

It’s been a great start to the season for the Merrimack High School boys hockey team, who are hoping to get back to the Division II finals. But right now, it’s one game at a time, and Wednesday’s game vs. Timberlane at West Side Arena was full of Tomahawk offense.

Here’s a look at that and the rest of Wednesday’s reported events:

BOYS HOCKEY

MERRIMACK 11, TIMBERLANE 2

Eliot Medlock had five goals with an assist as the Tomahawks improved to 3-0 in Division II to start the season.

Conor Dunn had a hat trick while Brayden Gualiumi added two goals and two assists. Ryan Warrington scored the other ‘Hawks goal, while Connor Miner and Noah Kahn each had two assists. Other assists in the scorefest went to Kenni Moute, Josh Kahn, Felix Rattunde, Tyler Allen,and even goalie James Brew.

Merrimack led 8-0 after the first period and never looked back. The Tomahawks next play in the Backyard Brawl Holiday Tourney beginning next Wednesday at Nashua’s Conway Arena.

JOHN STARK-HOPKINTON-HILLSBORO DEERING 4,

HOLLIS BROOKLINE-DERRYFIELD 1

Thevisiting Warriors dropped to 1-2 as their offense was stifled by the Stark co-op, which they will see again on Feb. 7 at Conway Arena.

The Warriors don’t play a Divison III regular season game until Jan. 3 at Pembroke-Campbell, but will host the three-day Backyard Brawl Holiday Tournament beginning next Wednesday at Conway Arena.

WRESTLING

MILFORD 42, ALVIRNE 33

The Broncos seemed in control, up 33-6, only to see the Spartans take the next six matches to get the dual meet win.

Milford got two forfeits, at 113 and 132, and got pins by J.J. Enright (106), Kane Davis (120), Zach Helie (126), Kyle LaJoie (138) and Evan O’Connell (150).

GOFFSTOWN 60, BISHOP GUERTIN 18

The Cards had a tough time with the Grizzlies, managing wins by Austin Steinruck at 106 (pin), Jack Kaler at 120 (10-3 decision), John Forcier at 138 (7-4), and William Murphy at 175 (pin).

SPAULDING 57, MERRIMACK 15

The Tomahawks managed wins by Connor Sayball at 126 (9-2) and Brendan Curley at 157 (pin).
