All-American! South’s Somorrostro gets highest soccer honor
NASHUA — One of the top if not the top high school soccer player in the area/state has received national recognition.
Nashua South senior forward Santiago Somorrostro, a First Team All-State player, was recently named an All-American for New Hampshire and the region.
Somorrostro was the Panthers captain and one of if not the state’s best overall player as a senior.
“It’s an amazing honor our captain,” Nashua South coach Tom Bellen said on social media.
As a result, Somorrostro, who recently signed a letter of intent to attend and play Division I men’s soccer at nearby UMass-Lowell, will be on the East roster on Saturday in the annual Boys High School All-American Game in Charleston, S.C.
The event features the top 40 high school players in the country — and that’s how Somorrostro can now officially be considered as.
