NASHUA — Friday night was a tale of two offenses at Stellos Stadium.

There was Londonderry, using four quarterbacks – the “Four Horsemen” if you will — but also pounding the ball straight ahead for 397 total yards.

And then there was Nashua North, struggling for yards (just 72 total) and points, its offense now scoreless for the last eight quarters as they fell 31-7 to the Lancers to drop to 3-3.

“We haven’t been able to get a rhythm going offensively, to be honest with you, in any games,” North coach Chad Zibolis said. “We’re having trouble up front obviously with the ‘O’ line, we haven’t had the same (offensive) line, weekly it’s something different. It’s trying to find an identity.

“Once you go against Bedford, once you go against Londonderry, they just have big, tough guys up front. It’s hard to get that rhythm and get that identity.”

That being said, the Titan defense was keeping North in it, down just 3-0 at the half. Then, after Luke Peters got the crowd going with a 59-yard interception return for a touchdown to help put North up 7-3 with 6:29 left in the third quarter.

But the Lancers responded with a seven play, 63-yard drive with Jack Schena scoring from 3 yards out to take a 9-7 lead three minutes later, a lead they would never relinquish thanks to four TDs in the final 18-plus minutes.

It was the response Lancer coach Jimmy Lauzon was looking for.

“My thought was I hope they just wake up,” Lancer coach Jimmy Lauzon said, his team now 4-1 in Division I, 5-1 overall. “The feeling was alright, now it’s kind of ‘Go Time’. And we responded great. If we could just play like that all the time, I’d feel much differently about what we could achieve.”

“That’s tough,” Zibolis said of the Lancer response. “You come up and get that pick, and everyone’s flying high, and if you get another stop right there, now it’s a different story. But they come out, move the ball right down the field, they hit us on a couple of traps. That’s tough.”

Lancer QB Cam Brutus ripped off a 33-yard run to start a five-play, 58-yard drive, and hit Mason Paquette on a 25-yard TD. With Sam Ogden’s conversion run, it was 17-7 with three seconds left in the third.

The Lancers added a Damon Dawson 4-yard run and a 6-yard TD by Conor Williams, who started and finished the game at QB.

Once 3-1, North is now 3-3 and at Goffstown next week.

“We’re still trying to find that identity and get more movement,” Zibolis said. “Whether that means making things more simple, I don’t know. The kids played with heart, the defense continues to keep us in games. (Londonderry) just decided to pound us up the middle, and that’s what we were afraid they were going to do from the get-go. … We get a little beat up up front, getting tired, and they started pounding the ball on us.”

And the Titans weren’t able to counter with the same.

“Our power game was just not there,” Zibolis said, “which was tough. That’s what we live and die by.”

Last night the other team’s power had the Titans doing the latter.
