HS Roundup: Tribou top local in NHIAA golf; HB football falls

Saturday was, well, a cool day for golf but several high school girls, including a couple of top locals, teed it up in Salem on Saturday for the NHIAA Girls Individual Championship.

It was a good day for soccer and field hockey, as well as football, and we’ve got all your local results:

BG’s TRIBOU TOP LOCAL IN GIRLS TOURNEY

Bishop Guertin sophomore Maria Tribou shot an eight over 79 to finish tied for fifth in the NHIAA Girls Golf Individual Golf Championship qualifer at Salem’s Campbell’s Scottish Highlands.

Tribou finished tied with Bishop Brady’s Madelyn Savary, and she was two shots ahead of another local, Nashua North’s Taylor Barry, who shot a 10-over par 81.

Dover’s Caryss Fennessy was the top finisher, shooting a four under 67, four shots ahead of Winnacunnet’s June Doerr (even par).

The top six will now head to Concord’s Beaver Meadow on Oct. 14 to compete for the girls individual title.

BOYS SOCCER

BISHOP GUERTIN 0, SALEM 0 (2 OT)

The Cards keepers Kyle Mach and Beau Boughter combined in goal for the shutout, while freshman midfielder Alex Haigt also played well.

Guertin, now 1-7-2, is at Dover on Tuesday.

FIELD HOCKEY

PINKERTON 4, NASHUA NORTH 0

The Titans may be winless (0-11) and scoreless on the season, but got good play from Alexa Farrell on offense along with Jordi Lopez blanked the Astros in a scoreless first quarter.

Kaitlyn Frye,Sarah Weintrau and Molly Ducharme held down the middle of the field for the Titans, who are at Londonderry on Monday.

FOOTBALL

JOHN STARK 62, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 6

It’s been a rough season for the undermanned Cavaliers and it got tougher at Weare. HB, now 0-4, trailed 56-0 at the half to the Generals, who are now 4-1 and making a playoff push.

The Cavaliers are back home Frday night vs. local rival Milford.
