You want big games? We’ve got a few this weekend.

Tonight there’s Nashua North at Bedford, a rematch of last year’s quarterfinals. There’s a battle of Division II contenders in Plymouth at Souhegan, and, of course, there’s the Division III Game of the Year with Trinity at Campbell in a battle of unbeatens. Saturday night Bishop Guertin has nearly a must win game vs. Timberlane.

Here’s a capsule look at the weekend:

FRIDAY

MANCHESTER CENTRAL (1-3) at NASHUA SOUTH (0-4)

WHEN: 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Nashua’s Stellos Stadium.

LAST WEEK: Nashua North 28, Nashua South 15; Concord 34, Central 12.

LAST YEAR: Did Not Play.

FYI: The Panthers, led by the running game of Sam Levine and Kyle Emmons, plus the passing of Cody Jackson, are hungry for their first win. The Little Green already has theirs, upsetting Goffstown a couple of weeks ago, and are led by junior QB Caydin Salvi. Between the two teams, there are just 11 seniors. Sign of the times.

PREDICTION: South 21, Central 13. Panthers finally get one.

BONNY EAGLE (3-1) at MERRIMACK (1-3)

WHEN: 6:30 P.M.

WHERE: MHS Student Memorial Field.

LAST WEEK: Bishop Guertin 28, Merrimack 7; Bonny Eagle 36, Scarborough 0.

LAST YEAR: Bonny Eagle 33, Merrimack 27.

FYI: This is obviously a good Bonny Eagle team, judging from the record and it did to Scarborough last week, led by senior QB Terrell Edwards and a trio of senior running backs. Merrimack has struggled offensively, thanks to turnovers, etc. QB Sahil Mujuwar and wideout Garren Brown remain key threats.

PREDICTION: Bonny Eagle 28, Merrimack 14. Maine gets even for BG win over Scarborough.

NASHUA NORTH (3-1) at BEDFORD (4-0)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Bedford’s Bulldog Stadium.

LAST WEEK: Nashua North 28, Nashua South 15; Bedford 61, Goffstown 0.

LAST YEAR: Nashua South 19, Bedford 7 (regular season); Bedford 7, Nashua South 0 (Division I quarterfinals).

FYI: Remember that dominant Bedford defense of a year ago? Well, this season through four weeks the Bulldogs have yet to give up a touchdown, and are unscored upon their last three games – granted against sub-500 teams. But offensively they are better, it seems, than a year ago, led by senior QB Danny Black. North QB John Canaway showed improvement last week, but defense is still the Titans’ strongsuit. They’ll need that to be the case tonight.

PREDICTION: Bedford 28, North 13. ‘Dogs pull away in first major test.

SALEM (4-0) at ALVIRNE (1-2, 2-2 overall)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Alvirne HS.

LAST WEEK: Alvirne 36, Malden (Mass.) 13; Salem 33, Windham 28.

LAST YEAR: Salem 45, Alvirne 12.

FYI: The Broncos, led by back Aiden Mills and QB Sean Boudreau, were able to right vs. Malden some of the wrongs from their disaster against Windham. The Blue Devils, meanwhile, beat the Jags on what has burned the Broncos so far this year – the long pass. Salem QB Nolan Lumley has a capable long range target in Kevin Todisco and explosive back in Feliz Gonzalez.

PREDICTION: Salem 30, Alvirne 14. The Blue Devils are back, pass the word.

DIVISION II

PLYMOUTH (4-0) at SOUHEGAN (3-0, 3-1)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Souhegan HS Calvetti Field.

LAST WEEK: Timberlane 21, Souhegan 20; Plymouth 48, Laconia 12.

LAST YEAR: Souhegan 46, Plymouth 0

FYI: The Sabers have to be stinging from being shut out in the second half vs. Timberlane, a game, it should be noted, doesn’t count in the Division II standings. But of course this one does, and the Romy Jain-J.J. Bright led offense will be without another key player, Brayden Hickman, to injury. Plymouth QB Luke Diamond threw for 136 yards in last week’s win and if you want to key on a running back, good luck; six Bobcats carried the ball. But Plymouth can’t win a shootout.

PREDICTION: Souhegan 30, Plymouth 23. Sabers pull out a close one.

MANCHESTER WEST (0-3) at MILFORD (0-4)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Milford HS

LAST WEEK: John Stark 50, West 14; Bow 26, Milford 15.

LAST YEAR: Milford 51, West 21.

FYI: It’s been a tough start for the Spartans, who have winnable games remaining on schedule – including this one. They’ll rely on QB Harris Jones and running back Cade Cloutier, and go from there. West is led by sophomore QB Gio Doria and coached by former BG assistant Andrew Provencher, but the Spartans are better than their record.

PREDICTION: Milford 33, West 7. Spartans show just how good they can be.

DIVISION III

TRINITY (4-0) at CAMPBELL (4-0)

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: CHS in Litchfield.

LAST WEEK: Campbell 36, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 0; Trinity 1, Monadnock 0 (forfeit).

LAST YEAR: Trinity 36, Campbell 22 (regular season); Campbell 16, Trinity 14 (Division III state title game).

FYI: Clearly, barring injuries, the best two teams in Division III. Trinity managed to stop vaunted Cougar back Scott Hershberger in last year’s regular season matchup, but not in the title game when the Cougars just ran it, ran it, ran it. Can they do the same thing again? With a decent passing attack with sophomore QB Gavin Osgood. Trinity may need to shake off the rust after not playing last week due to a staph infection at Monadnock. The Pioneers lost just a couple of seniors from last year’s team and again are led by QB Jack Service, Paul Thibault and DeVohn Ellis. Tough game.

PREDICTION: Campbell 20, Trinity 19. Really, could go either way.

SATURDAY

DIVISION II

HOLLIS BROOKLINE (0-3) at JOHN STARK (3-1)

WHEN: 2 p.m.

WHERE: John Stark Regional in Weare.

LAST WEEK: Pelham 64, HB 0; John Stark 50, Manchester West 14.

LAST YEAR: John Stark 42, HB 12.

FYI: Just a tough year for the Cavaliers, whose numbers are way down, and perhaps it’s a program that likely should drop down. The Cavs will do their best to try to limit Generals back Joe Dykstra.

PREDICTION: JS 44, HB 6.

DIVISION I

TIMBERLANE (1-2, 2-2) at BISHOP GUERTIN (1-2, 2-2)

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: Stellos Stadium, Nashua.

LAST WEEK: Timberlane 21, Souhegan 20; BG 28, Merrimack 7.

LAST YEAR: Bishop Guertin 23, Timberlane 20

FYI: With a trip to Pinkerton looming next week for the Cards, this is is essentially a must win, because 1-4 means they’d have to win out to have even a shot at the playoffs. BG has got a running game led by A.J. Holmes and a great passing game with QB Mike MacDonough, but the Cards have to protect MacDonough to have a shot. Timberlane is very physical, and its offense is led by QB Jeremy Mlocek. MacDonough will have to be aware of Owl defender Cam Nazarian, who had an interception last week.

PREDICTON: BG 14, Timberlane 13. Simple survival.
