HS Roundup: BG edges Merrimack, Cavs rout Pelham

Revenge must be sweet for the Hollis Brookline High School girls soccer team.
The Cavaliers top the local Friday docket as they beat Pelham 10-0. All the Pythons did 11 months ago was rally to beat the Cavs in overtime in the Division II semis.
But that’s not the only news of the day. The Milford and BG girls soccer teams won all-local battles, and the Milford field hockey team got its first win of the year.
Here’s the rundown of what was for some a Fab Friday:
GIRLS SOCCER
BISHOP GUERTIN 2, MERRIMACK 1
The Cards improved to 7-1 as Martha Lord and Ava Suech each scored a goal while Arianna Kouchalakos assisted on both.
The Cards take on Nashua North Monday at 6 p.m. at Stellos Stadium, while Merrimack (4-3-1) travels to Hanover on Tuesday.
MILFORD 2, SOUHEGAN 1
Lulu Maguire scored the game winning goal to help the Spartans (1-5-1) get their first win of the season. Alina St. George had one goal, Ava Kryczki added an assist and Trinity Wilhelm had three saves. Milford hosts ConVal and Souhegan (0-7) hosts Hollis Brookline on Tuesday.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 10, PELHAM 0
McKenna Maguire tallied five goals and an assist in the Cavs dominant win to improve to 8-0. Others adding to the overall team effort were Sienna Anderson (goal), Marleigh Kreick (goal, assist), Addison Fyfe (goal), Rosalie DeSantis (goal), Kiera King (goal), Mya Blackman (four saves) and Bailey Dunn (save). HB visits Souhegan on Tuesday.
BOYS SOCCER
CAMPBELL 4, CONANT 0
Luke Delia (assist) and Tucker Matthews collected two goals apiece in the Cougars (6-1) shutout. Tyson Landry, Brett Biron and Bryden Caron all had assists in the win. Campbell hosts Monadnock on Monday.
FIELD HOCKEY
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 5, PELHAM 0
The Cavs (5-2) shutout the Pythons for their fifth win in a row. Kartina Lee, Emily Tebbetts (two goals), Nyah Jernberg (assist) and Addison Marchant (assist) led the offense. HB visits Milford on Monday.
MILFORD 1, DERRYFIELD 0
Willa Audley netted the only goal of the game to give the Spartans (1-7) their first win of the season. Mairead Kirby had one assist and Ari Wales made five saves. Milford hosts Hollis Brookline on Monday.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, BISHOP GUERTIN 0
The Cavs (7-1) sweep the Cardinals (3-5) 25-13, 25-14, 25-20. Leading the way for HB were Lolly Adair (five kills, five aces, two blocks), Maggie Noble (10 kills, ace), Annette Schlunk (eight kills), Libby Getter (18 assists) and Maia Schneider (10 digs, recorded her 500th dig). Akira Coravos and Veronica Gomez played well for BG.
HB visits Portsmouth on Wednesday and BG visits Nashua North on Monday.
OYSTER RIVER 3, MILFORD 0
The Spartans (3-4) lose to Oyster River by the scores of 22-25, 16-25, 16-25. Savannah Watson (eight kills, nine digs, two aces, assist), Piper Greenhalgh (16 digs, two aces) and Hannah Harrington (12 assists, four digs, ace) played well for the locals. Milford visits Pelham on Monday.
