HS Roundup: More K’s for HB’s Kump; big win for South

Austyn Kump has had quite a softball career at Hollis Brookline and she keeps adding to it. Kump, who last week eclipsed the 400 strikeout plateau — it took her just three seasons — added to that total on Monday in a win.

On the baseball side, Nashua South got a big road win over Winnacunnet, giving them double digits in wins.

BASEBALL

NASHUA SOUTH 7, WINNACUNNET 6

The Panthers (10-7)squeak past the Warriors to improve to 10-7. Playing well offensively were Dean Adams (two hits, run), Devin Sawyer (two hits, run) and Jake O’Connor (three hits, two runs, RBI).

Grant McCubrey pitched three innings allowing two hits and striking out four. South hosts Timberlane on Thursday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 9, MILFORD 2

The Cavs (12-3) notch their fifth win in a row with a decisive win over the Spartans (6-9). Gavin Knudsen (hit, two runs, two RBIs), Alex Razzaboni (hit, two runs, two RBIs), Dylan Morelli (hit, run, two RBIs), Jonah Winsor (hit, two RBIs) and Zak Lussier (hit, run, RBI) led HB’s offense. Charlie Hale got the win allowing one run and striking out 12 over six innings.

Milford’s Bryce Larco (two hits, RBI), Logan Howard (RBI), Chris Bedard (hit, run) and Landon Pierce (three inning pitched, allowing five runs) played well in the loss.

HB hosts Merrimack Valley on Wednesday and Milford hosts ConVal on Thursday.

CAMPBELL 8, NEWFOUND 3

The Cougars improve to 13-2 after defeating Newfound. Luke Delia went the distance scattering eight hits and allowing three earned runs with five strikeouts. The offense was led by Delia (two hits, three RBIs), Hunter Henderson (hit, two runs, RBI), Braydon White (three hits, two runs, RBI) and Mike Grace (two hits, two runs). Campbell visits Raymond on Tuesday.

GOFFSTOWN 12, MERRIMACK 4

The Tomahawks (2-14) lose their seventh game in a row at the claws of the Grizzlies. Evan Sousa had three hits. Merrimack visits Keene on Wednesday.

KEENE 4, ALVIRNE 1

Keene’s Jack Riendeau allowed just the one Bronco run on five hits. Max Francisco scored the lone Bronco run. Alvirne (3-13) hosts Londonderry on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 12, NASHUA NORTH 0

The Cardinals finish the regular season with a shutout win against the Titans (0-15). North’s Mack Brady hit a single for their only hit of the game and Hope Blondin threw all five innings. BG ends the regular season with an 8-9 record and North visits Exeter on Tuesday.

WINNACUNNET 13, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers (4-12) got shutout by the Warriors after watching the game slip away early. Jillian Daley went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 runs on 13 hits and striking out two. Elizabeth DeRusha led South with one hit. South visits Timberlane on Wednesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 6, MILFORD 4

The Cavs (12-3) win their seventh straight contest, by holding off the Spartans (3-12). Austyn Kump was the winning pitcher, allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out 14, giving her 415 for her career.

Kump (three hits, RBI), Ava Imbrogno (two hits), Katrina Lee (hit, two RBIs), Kailey Disco (hit, RBI), Meghan Park (hit) and Sophia Brickner (RBI) sparked the offense. HB hosts Merrimack Valley on Wednesday and Milford hosts ConVal on Friday.

WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 28, NUTE 7

Bri Fish hit two homeruns in the Warriors (10-4) offensive outburst. Abby Dowling (two doubles, triple), Kay Miller (two doubles) and Naomi Bozarth (double, triple) played well for the locals.

WLC visits Portsmouth Christian on Tuesday.

BOYS LACROSSE

EXETER 20, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers fall to 3-14 after a shutout loss to the Blue Hawks. South hosts Merrimack on Friday.

PINKERTON 19, NASHUA NORTH 2

Adeen Ahmed and Ashton Carroll scored for the Titans (5-12) in their loss to the Astros. Dezmin Michaud and Austin Kaminaris recorded six and three saves respectively.

North takes on Bishop Guertin on Wednesday.

PLYMOUTH 13, MILFORD 2

The Spartans (1-13) lose their third in game in a row when they visited Plymouth. Chuck Urda and Kaleb Francouer each scored a goal with Harris Jones saving 19 shots. Milford visits Gilford on Wednesday.

BEDFORD 15, MERRIMACK 5

Kyle Dunn and Jackson Forbes each had two goals, but the Tomahawks fell to 9-4. Merrimack is at Exeter on Wednesday.

SOUHEGAN 10, HANOVER 8

The Sabers improved to 9-5 with four goals from Ayden McGrath and four assists by Cole Manning. Josh Dupuis had 10 saves in goal.

The Sabers host Winnacunnet on Thursday.

GIRLS LACROSSE

NASHUA SOUTH 16, EXETER 13

The Panthers (12-4) claw away from the Blue Hawks to win the high scoring match. Ella Benzekri (six goals, three assists), Maren Lowell (five goals, two assists), Karina O’Donnell (four goals, two assists), Morgan Udzanovich (goal, assist) and Keira Walsh (10 saves) led the way for South. South hosts Keene on Thursday.

PINKERTON 17, NASHUA NORTH 2

The Titans (1-15) fall to the Astros in their final home game of the season. Molly Ducharme and Katelin Munroe each scored a goal with Elliott Brown making nine saves. Natalee McInerney and Jessica Pech-Buzek were celebrated on Senior Night. North visits Bishop Guertin on Wednesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 16, WINNACUNNET 6

Sabrina Hill recorded six goals and two assists in the Cavs (12-4) dominant win over the Warriors. Adding to the offense were Cailean Roy (four goals, two assists), Paige Mello (two goals), Alyssa Hill (goal, assist), Bella Haytayan (goal), Maddison Caetano (goal) and Samantha Smith (goal). Julia Vella, Daniella Allanach, Paige Magnuszewski and Juliette Ogren led the defensive unit. Addy Dougherty had six saves in net. HB celebrated Paige Mello, Paige Magnuszewski, Alyssa Hill, Bella Haytayan, Julia Vella and Daniella Allanach on their Senior Night. HB visits Spaulding on Tuesday.

DOVER 12, SOUHEGAN 6

The Sabers (7-6) win streak end at three after a loss to Dover. Lyla Kimball (four goals), Abby Giannetti (goal), Emma Kennedy (goal, two assists), Nicole Heimarck (assist) and Catie Schriever (11 saves) were the bright spots for Souhegan. Souhegan visits Pinkerton on Wednesday.
