It was another tough day at Stellos Stadium for the Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team, as the Cards did something they haven’t done in years — suffer a second consecutive loss.

Meanwhile, the Nashua North girls softball team did something it hasn’t often done — score double figures in runs.

Here’s a look at an eventful Thursday:

GIRLS LACROSSE

WESTWOOD (Mass.) 12, BISHOP GUERTIN 9

The Cards were right in it until the end but Westwood, one of the top teams in Eastern Mass., took advantage of a BG penalty to score two goals to put the game away.

Anna Campel led BG with four goals, while Lauren Redfern had two and singles were by Maddy Hartsock, Arianna Kouchalakas and Kyra O’Connell.

Tess Prunier and Kam Schmitt each had an assist for BG (2-2), which faces another tough test Tuesday at Bedford.

The Cavaliers got a combined nine goals from Sabrina (five) and Alyssa (four, plus three assists) Hill, while Juliette Ogren also had four goals and an assist. Paige Mello had three goals while Cailean Roy (goal, two assists) also played a key role.

Roy, along with Daniella Allanach had three draw controls apiece.

Caused turnovers (CTOs) were spread evenly between Alyssa Hill, McKenna Maguire, and Daniella Allanach with two each. Maddison Caetano, Zoe Kreick, Samantha Smith, Isabella Martinos, Paige Mello and Julia Vello each had one. Addy Dougherty had three saves in net for the Cavs, who host Goffstown on Monday.

North’s offense came alive in what was a great game but the 0-5 Titans fell short.

Taylor Joyal led the offense going 3 for 3 with five RBIs. Nicki Gates had a two-run homer, while Aaralyn Lopez had a single.

Hope Blondin had two singles and also pitched a complete game, striking out three. North is back at it today at Timberlane.

Jack Desjardins managed the only point for the Titans with a win at No. 4 singles. North’s No. 1 doubles team of Rudra Patel/Nardone lost 9-8 in a tiebreaker.

North (2-5) doesn’t play again until May 3 at Nashua South in the Battle of the Bridge.

ALVIRNE 5, SPAULDING 4

The Broncos may have been missing some regulars but it didn’t stop them from picking up their second win (2-4) to snap a three-match skid.

Brennan Levesque got his first career singles win at No. 6, while Zach Proulx and Caleb Lambert had three wins between them, each in singles and they teamed up as usual in doubles. Dylan Burke also picked up a singles win.

Alvirne is off until May 1 when it hosts Manchester Central.
