HS Roundup: Merrimack’s Church wins bowling title

Merrimack not only won a team bowling title last week but now the Tomahawks have a state individual champion, highlighting yet another busy local Saturday.
Merrimack’s Ryan Church has that golden feeling on the lanes. Also, yesterday was the final day of the local hockey regular season.
BOWLING
Church made his way through the tournament and defeated Bishop Guertin’s Derek Griebel, who took the silver, in the finals in the Championship Flight at Yankee Lanes in Manchester.
Winning the Medal Flight was Hollis Brookline’s Zach Tiner, downing Winnacunnet’s Maddy Eaton.
BOYS HOCKEY
BISHOP GUERTIN 4, EXETER 1
Cosmo Siano got two goals, while John Mantone got the go-ahead goal in the second period as the Cards finish the regular season at 13-5. Logan Vogel got an insurance goal empty netter.
Guertin, likely the third seed in Division I, now will bypass the prelims and host a quarterfinal game next Saturday at Skate 3.
NASHUA SOUTH-PELHAM 8, BISHOP BRADY 3
The Kings finished the season on a high note at 4-14 with their best game of the year.
TRINITY 8, NASHUA NORTH-SOUHEGAN 1
The Saber-Titans were eliminated from any state tourney hopes as they managed just a goal by Brady Dery in the first period.
Goalie Zach Veilleux was swamped in goal, making 29 saves.
The Saber-Titans, who needed to win their final two games to have a chance to get into the Division I tourney, fell to 6-11 and wrap up the season with a makeup game today vs. Windham at the Salem Icenter.
MERRIMACK 4, ALVIRNE-MILFORD 1
Owen Miner had a pair of goals for the Tomahawks, while Conor Dunn had a goal and three assists.
Eliot Medlock added a goal and an assist while Matty Ryan had the Admirals lone goal, unassisted, in the third period.
Matt Licata played well in goal for Merrimack (11-6-1) which is set for the Division II quarterfinals next Saturday.
The Admirals season ends at 7-11.
PEMBROKE-CAMPBELL 3, HOLLIS BROOLINE-DERRYFIELD 2
It’s been a tough couple of days for the Warriors, who lost to Kennet 2-1 on Friday night and then suffered another one goal loss less than 24 hours later.
HBDS winds up the regular season at 12-6 and will host a quarterfinal next Saturday, likely against Kingswood.
Pembroke-Campbell winds up the regular season at 14-4 as the No. 3 seed, and likely faces Kennett in a home quarterfinal next Saturday.
GIRLS HOCKEY
BISHOP GUERTIN 7, MANCHESTER CENTRAL 0
Gracie Menicci had four goals while Jill Scanlon had a pair as the Cards finished the regular season in style, possibly earning the top seed going into the tournament at 13-2-3 in a head-to-head tiebreaker with Oyster River-Portsmouth.
Jasmine Shattuck had a goal and two asists, while Tessa Wilkie had two assists and Carly Green had an assist.
Ciara Fallon had the shutout in goal for the Cards, who will next be in action in the quarterfinals next Friday.
