It was fitting on Saturday in the chilly weather that hockey dominated the local high school action, with both the Bishop Guertin boys and girls teams posting wins — that’s a combined 19 between them this season — while Nashua North-Souhegan lost a wild one to Salem at Conway Arena.

And there’s more, with some local wrestling mixed in, so here’s a look:

BOYS HOCKEY

SALEM 8, NASHUA NORTH-SOUHEGAN 6

The Saber-Titans jumped out to a 4-1 lead but penalties took hold and the Blue Devils took advantage of them with at least three power play goals and both teams scored on penalty shots, Will Dodge for Nashua.

Jacob Landry had two goals and three assists for North-Souhegan, while Chase McBride and Dodge each had a pair of goals. Salem’s MaxCondon and Brennan Chane each had hat tricks.

It was a tough finish, however, as a skirmish broke out and four players from each team drew fighting penalties.

Zach Veilleux had 40 saves for the Saber -Titans, who fell to 4-6 and host Alvirne-Milford on Monday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 4, BOW 1

Devin Young and Sam Clauson each scored twice as the Cards improved to 9-2. Cosmo Siano had two assists while single assists went to Young, Tim Kiely, Logan Vogel and Aidan Kelley.

Guertin will host Billerica (Mass.) Memorial on Monday at 4 p.m. at Skate 3.

OYSTER RIVER 3, ALVIRNE-MILFORD 2

It was the same score as a week ago between these two Division II teams but with the opposite result.

This time the Admirals couldn’t complete the comeback, down 2-0 and 3-1. The local goals were both by Hayden Ricard assisted by Brendan Levesque in the first period and Trent Scarbro in the second.

Now 4-7, the Admirals visit North-Souhegan at Conway Arena Monday at 4 p.m.

MERRIMACK 1, WINNACUNNET 1 (OT)

Both teams scored in the second period, with Merrimack’s coming from Eliot Medlock, assisted by Owen Miner, but that was it. Matt Licata had 23 saves in net as Merrimack (6-5-1) will be at Spaulding on Monday.

GIRLS HOCKEY

BISHOP GUERTIN 5, BERLIN-GORHAM-KENNETT 0

Jenna Lynch had a hat trick for the visiting Cards, who improved to 10-1-2.

Jasmine Shattuck and Grace Menicci got the other goals, while assists on the night went to Haley Gagne (two) Natalie Gaffey, and Jill Scanlon.

Scar Casey played well in goal for BG, which heads to face Malden (Mass.) Catholic on Monday.
