It’s over!

Finally, the Alvirne High School football team was able to taste victory for the first time since 2019 as the Broncos ended the 2022 season with a 55-26 win over Goffstown in Hudson.

It snapped a 23-game losing streak; the Broncos’ last win came in the Division II quarterfinals three years ago. Then they moved back to Division I, after which they had failed to win a game before they manhandled the 0-10 Grizzlies last night.

“I broke down in tears,” Alvirne coach Tarek Rothe said. “This senior class hadn’t won a game at any level in four years. So very happy for them.”

Cole Bucknam had over 100 yards receiving with two TDs, and added a third on the defensive side with a 95-yard pick six. Also, Bronco Aiden Mills ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Broncos QB Zack Peters had a tremendous night, throwing for 300 yards and four touchdowns.

The Broncos ended the season 1-9.
