HS Football Roundup: Titans get to 9-0, ‘Hawks edge ‘Dogs

And now they rest.
The Nashua High School North football team made it through the gauntlet of a Division I regular season unscathed, beating Dover on Friday night, and now at 9-0 with a West Conference championship, the Titans own a first-round bye and can watch next weekend’s playoffs at their leisure.

NASHUA NORTH 42, DOVER 13
The Titans got three rushing TDs from Jordyn Raisanen-Andino, while QB Derek Finlay ran for two scores and threw for another at Dunaway Field.
Nick Genest added a receiving touchdown while defensively Amaury Almonte and Raisanen-Andino each had interceptions.
Dover fell to 4-5.
MERRIMACK 24, BEDFORD 21
This was probably the game of the night as the Tomahawks got three rushing touchdowns from Reimello Hyde as well as a two-point conversion. Merrimack led 9-7 at the half.
“Great effort by the offensive line,” Tomahawks coach Kip Jackson said, his 6-2 (6-3 overall) team now likely hosting Portsmouth-Oyster River in the first round of the Division I playoffs next weekend.
The Bulldogs finish the regular season at 6-3 but will be playoff bound next weekend.
MANCHESTER CENTRAL 35, ALVIRNE 0
The Broncos ended the regular portion of the schedule at 0-9, while Manchester Central improved to 2-6.
Once the playoff pairings are set, the remaining eight non-playoff teams, including these two, in Division I will be seeded to schedule one final regular season game next weekend.
MILFORD 46, LEBANON 0
The Spartans likely got themselves a postseason berth in Division II, enjoying touchdowns by Charlie Urda, Cade Cloutier, Mike Lima,Chris Cotsifas , Trice Cote and Jack Szopa as they improved to 5-4.
KENNETT 35, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 18
The Cavaliers season ends at 1-8 despite three rushing TDs by Brady Laub.
Kennett, likely in the Division II playoffs, wraps up the regular season at 6-3.
